We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Birdsong Cottage—such a peaceful and serene retreat. I only wish my partner and I could have stayed longer! Susan and Gavin are incredibly welcoming and kind, making us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. The bedroom is spacious with a comfortable ensuite bathroom, and the kitchen area is perfect for preparing a meal. You can enjoy your food at the large dining table or step onto the deck, where you’re greeted by the sounds of nature and breathtaking birdlife. The provided binoculars let you get an even closer look at the astonishing birds—such a special touch! If you're looking for a tranquil getaway surrounded by nature and warm hospitality, Birdsong Cottage is the perfect place. We can’t wait to return!

Birdsong Cottage is beautiful, well equipped, comfortable and peaceful. Even the birdsong isn't too loud! WE loved watching the TUIs enjoying their sugar nectar feeders.

Although the location is peaceful, it is just off the Main Road (old SH1) so you need to use your car to go anywhere.

Host was extremely friendly and helpful! The cottage was very clean and beautifully appointed with fresh flowers and a linen tablecloth! One of the best accommodations we have found in NZ. The location was nestled in the bush with frequent visits from the tui birds. The property belonging to the host was very well maintained and picturesque. We loved it so much we stayed two extra days. Thanks for making us feel so welcome Susan and Gavin xx

A beautiful cottage with everything you could think of wanting, with an outlook of trees and Tui’s feeding. A perfect place to stop. Susan and Gavin could not have been more helpful.

I really enjoyed our stay, it was a tranquil setting, peaceful and relaxing. The host also had the property unlocked on arrival for us to be able to just walk in, and she also came and introduced herself later in the day which was great hospitatlity.
