Hot Water Beach Surf Sound Cottage

We absolutely loved our trip to this cottage. It’s an amazing location and very cute cottage. Would 100% stay here again.

Booked and paid for a place with 3 beds kind of expected 3 beds to be made up. This was not the case. We all enjoy our own space while sleeping hence the reason we book places with 3 beds. My very large teenager was assigned to a single bed while having to share the space with an unmade queen. Probably don’t assume we just wanted 2 beds. Also one towel is not sufficient for people who are travelling from overseas and don’t care their own towels due to luggage restrictions. Having said this I didn’t raise this issue so it may of been resolved if I did. Still would return as it was a beautiful cottage and location. Could be amazing with some quality furnishings and linens definitely would be happy to pay extra for those things

The location was awesome for beach access and local facilities. The cafe down the road (1min walk- Hot Waves Cafe) was fab. The house was very homely and had almost everything we needed. The host also was able to let us in earlier than scheduled on request which was really helpful due to long haul travel. The shovels included for the beach were fab and we enjoyed digging and finding the hot springs. Burning hot!!! Ouch! Great space and vibe all around.

It was a little shabby in places and could have an improved shower/bath suite, but we loved the general rustic-ness of the property though. One more towel would be nice to dry hair with whilst using the other for body drying. Also, an extra helpful perk would be to have a universal travel adaptor, but we found one in a local store in Hahei so all good.

Perfect place, close to the Hot water beach (like 5 minutes by foot👣). Easy self check in, very homey feeling and was happy to find the shovels for the beach in the yard! Very comfortable and spacious, amazing garden with birds.

We loved this place! So close to the beach, so cosy, so nice. Beds extremely comfy. We stayed 2 nights only, but would have loved to stay much longer.

Location was fantastic. and it had such a cosy, friendly feel. we felt very at home. Check in could have been slightly improved. A bit of extra detail on which turning to take into property (sat nav was not accurate unfortunately) would be a helpful addition to a great stay

Beautiful and quiet place where you could hear lots of different birds' songs. As we came to winter, it was quiet and oeaceful. Hotwater beach is walkibg distance and you don't have to pay very expensive car park there!
