Road Sun Tourist Lodge

Lodge is located away from the road, in a safe area. Bed was very comfy and was the best nights sleep. The shower was hot and had good pressure. Parking at the front door. The Host, Lennard, was polite and helpful and showed us around. The shared facilities: kitchen, lounge and dining were immaculate, very clean comfortable and tastefully decorated.

I didn't realise a 'Lodge' meant a separate bedroom & bathroom in a house with 4 other rooms all sharing a kitchen, lounge and dining.

The location was beautiful and so peaceful. The facilities were excellent, however I was unaware that it was shared living and kitchen facilities

Leonard and his wife were amazing they went out of their way to help us, nothing was a problem. Would definitely recommend the hosts and the beautiful setting of the property!

Be great to have a little fridge in the unit with a jug etc and maybe a small TV? Otherwise perfect place for quiet and relaxing

Very comfortable. We hadn’t realised it was shared kitchen, laundry, seating area but it was very new and all worked well and the bed was very comfortable. There are ducks, hens and alpacas on the property.

It was difficult to find and we had to ring for instructions. There are no signs on the road or in the property.

Beautiful surroundings. Ducklings and chickens are roaming around, making it a very relaxing place. One of the very best beds we ever slept on after traveling around world for more than three decades.

Rooms and bathrooms nice

No tv in room, no kitchenette facilities in room No reception area- couldn’t work out where what room we were in as no one to greet us. Very confusing set up Pre organised 2 times to have 2 single beds made up instead of a Queen. Was told that was fine but message was not given to venue

We paid 378 for one for what we thought was a house turns out was for a room and ensuite in a shared house we never wood of paid that when we have book entire homes in Dunedin Wanaka and heaps places for less or same price

It takes around 10 minutes to drive from the Octagon to the Lodge. The garden around the Lodge is very large. You can find quite a number of chickens, ducks and three alpacas kept next to the entrance. The Lodge looks luxurious and is well-organized. The room with ensuite is clean and tidy. Tenants could relax in the dining room.

It is quite windy at night, but if you open the windows the light may attract quite a number of small insects, therefore it would be better not to open the windows. Nonetheless, it becomes a little bit hot and stuffy in the room.

The furnishings I simply can't fault. You can see they've put time and money into the quality of the interior, and everything was clean and tidy.

1 The cost is overpriced for what it is. 2 The yard, no signage at entrance or anywhere for that matter. Tidy the outside of the other buildings for this price. 3 Being woken up by the host at 10.45pm because the wife is in the toilet and the neighbouring room is kept awake by the exhaust fan, apparently. The rooms are supposed to be soundproof. This is basically a bed and breakfast without breakfast. I should have enquired more thoroughly, but the wording led me to believe it was not a bed and breakfast type accomadation.
