Blue Bell Cottage. Serene luxury farmstead

My partner and I drove up from Christchurch, and were looking forward to having a chill weekend away. And it delivered! We had such a lovely stay at Blue Bell Cottage. A beautiful space, very cosy and so lovingly decorated, and the view !!! - just what we were after. Caroline and Richard were very friendly and hospitable, plus Freya and Beth who welcomed us with smiles and wagging tails every time we returned from an outing. 15 mins from Motueke, and 40 mins from Nelson, nestled in a valley surrounded by orchards and farmsteads. It was indeed serene and luxurious. All in all, a great holiday home.

Our stay at the Blue Bell cottage turned out to be an unexpected highlight of our trip! The cozy interior and warm welcome by Caroline made us really feel at home. The cottage is very spacious and thoughtfully decorated and furnished. The kitchen has a microwave and everything you need to cook yourself some dinner without a stovetop. For breakfast there was bread, butter, jam, cornflakes, coffee, tea and cocoa. We had a lovely stay!

For us, it was perfect.

Absolutely gorgeous cottage which has been so beautifully decorated, we felt like we were staying at a retreat in the Hamptons! Caroline was such a warm and friendly host, she greeted us and made sure we had everything we needed. Her dogs are adorable and love a pat or two! We only wished we had booked a few more nights here to enjoy the lovely view a little longer.

The location and views were rural exemplification. Sitting on the veranda taking in the vista of open rolling hills framed by the majestic mountains. WOW. The hosts were very lovely, helpful and unobtrusive and the odd hello visit from their quiet and obedient dogs added to the serenity of watching the world go calmly by.

There was nothing to dislike.

We had a very comfortable stay at blue bell cottage and our host was very helpful with touring ideas yet we gave us complete privacy. . Everything we needed was available and the home was clean and well lit with WiFi and Netflix for the evening. Don’t hesitate to book a stay. You won’t t be disappointed. And, the cookies were delicious!

If you’re unable to navigate stairs be advised the bedroom is upstairs. We had no problem with that but it could be an issue for some.

We loved our stay at Blue Bell Cottage. It’s very well equipped, cozy and tastefully decorated. It has a wonderful deck to sit and enjoy the view (with a good glass of wine :))Caroline is a very welcoming, attentive host. We felt at home here. The dogs (and the fluffy cat) were so adorable. Fully recommended.
