Stunning location, Amazing Views! Even from the bedrooms you can have a lovely view down the lake and to the mountains and enjoy the beautiful night sky. Lots of living space and an amazing deck. Kitchen has everything you need. Loved the placemats with NZ trivia. Tekapo is great for riding around on bikes and easy to commute by bike to town.

TV in living room didn't appear to have any TV apps or ability to use. During the Nor'wester there was lots of interference watching SKY in the separate TV room. Playing cards are missing cards in the decks, didn't notice until a few rounds into 500 :-D I found it hard to fill up the water for the fridge without spilling it.

Some of the design details could have been better -sofas face away from the view, which felt like a shame.

The location of the house with it's gorgeous expansive deck allowed for the most amazing views of Lake Tekapo, a little exposed to the wind though but that's ok - it was a warm wind where we were there! Perfect spot to enjoy a glass of wine and platter. House itself has a great setup, lots of space for our group travelling together with a very well equipped kitchen and other little things in the cupboards and laundry. Selection of books and games available as well which was cool.

However unfortunately it wasn't very clean, like others who have mentioned it we all agreed that it felt like it needed a really deep clean and for the money we paid it was a little disappointing. The heat pump was really struggling to cool the place down and when we opened it there was a very thick layer of dust across the filters which we needed to clean off. Didn't help much. When I mentioned on checkout I was told that the heatpump had recently been cleaned which was a surprise as it was filthy! Would also be great if there were fans in other rooms as being a sunny house when it's hot it was hard to cool down at night for sleeping. Some of the sheets were also stained, which whilst we assume they were clean (!!) didn't really give us a great impression. One of the twin bedrooms also had the beds in a very strange configuration (not like in photos on website), like the bed was right across the entrance almost. When we went to look down the side it appeared all the carpet was pulled up in that corner. Very odd. All in all the property could do with some TLC and maintenance we felt.

This house is worth booking for the views alone! From the large outside deck there are stunning views over Lake Tekapo and the surrounding mountains. The house is great too and perfect for our big family group of 7 travelling together. There is a large well equipped kitchen, with everything you could need, comfortable lounge and separate snug, very spacious master bedroom and the other bedrooms are all a good size. Walking distance from the village and the lake and a great spot for stargazing on the hill behind the house. A very comfortable base to explore this beautiful area. Friendly service from holiday homes agent in the village.

The location/size/

It was only surface clean. The kitchen cupboards were greasy, and door edges very dirty. When making our bed we discovered the white doona cover was really dirty and stained brown on the underside. It was not pleasant at all. Obviously the sheets not the covers are changed only. We paid a premium price for this accomodation so we’re disappointed. I think the whole house needs a deep clean.
