Stylish Studio Gilao in Taviras Historical Centre

The tiles on the floor were not clean, the shower tiles were also dirty and the mat was not vacuumed very well.

Not a lot. To be honest, we were in the same frame of mind as another couple who stayed here previously. They booked for 5 nights and left after 2. We stuck out. Loved tavira, but not , what I would call basic accommodation. We didn't feel that it was anything like value for money , very over priced.

The location is definitely the best feature of the studio. You’re right in the center of Tavira, within short walking distance of all the restaurants and the river, in a street with no traffic. The studio is nice and has all you need. The kitchenette is really tinny, but the electric stove top was a great solution and did the trick to allow for cooking eggs for breakfast. The rooftop terrace is also one of the major pluses of the building. It’s a common area that serves the other two apartments, but we got to enjoy it for ourselves in the morning.

The weakest thing about the studio is the bathroom, which could use a renovation. The shower could have doors instead of a curtain and the shower head was leaking when we first used it and had to be replaced. The manager did take care of it in a timely manner. The bed should have a proper set of sheets, including the upper sheet and not just the duvet cover. We rent properties ourselves and therefore notice these things. For this price a night, these details should be improved.

Shower head could be changed..water comes out horizontaly instead of vertically but pressure was great! A deep clean would be good!

Location was good very central.

Interior was very tired and in need of refurbishment. Tile grouting in shower was dirty. Mattress protector was stained. No space to put clothes only one rail.

Central location and effective air conditioning

Situated on the 1st floor at the corner of two streets lined with restaurants and bars which open to late at night and can be lively. The flat abuts a 1st floor restaurant next door. Great if you like to listen to music while you try to get off to sleep. Tiny shower. Pricey for what it is.
