Stylish Studio Gilao in Taviras Historical Centre

This apartment is in the heart of the action and near everything. So many restaurants, with many just outside your door. The bed was super comfortable and the space is big enough for 2 people. We enjoyed the roof top deck in the evenings, and appreciated the air conditioning, which kept the room plenty cool. William was attentive to our needs and everything was very clean and tidy. Being in the center, there is some noise outside, but the windows were good enough to keep out nearly all of it. This unit is on the 2nd floor, and there is no elevator. With only 3 units in the building, there weren't many people coming and going. Overall, a very nice place and we would stay here again.

Free parking is a few blocks away and all streets are cobblestone, which isn't fun for dragging luggage.

Great location to the ferry for the beach. Walking distance to cafes bar and restaurants

Arrived at the location at 1am in the morning and took over an hour to locate the building Just needed some more precise directions to find it even the locals who were great didn't know where it was. A sign with stylish studio over the door would help or send a photo of the door with check in instructions

Bijoux studio flat with shared rooftop terrace. Situated in the middle of the Centre Historico with fantastic views of the old town and river. With this in mind you need to understand there will be noise but that is mainly chatter during the day then music from the restaurants in the evening. Huge floor to ceiling windows let in lots of light and the wooden shutters keep out 80% of the noise on an evening. The noise did settle by 12am after which it was so quiet until 8am. Staff were attentive and sorted a minor issue with cutlery first thing. Towels can be left out in the morning to be replaced by fresh ones which was a good touch. Plenty of restaurants literally on the same street and across the river too. It is a beautiful spot and would definitely recommend visiting Ihla de Tavira and the Camera Obscura which is in the old water tower that you can see from the terrace. All in all a little apartment with rustic charm that will grow on you .

At times the noise was like battle of the bands but the music was traditional so we eventually went with it.

Would have been nice to get one room clean over a long stay (I was there for 4 nights and 5 days)
