Stylish Studio Gilao in Taviras Historical Centre

Loved the decor and feel. Large windows, good air conditioning. Heritage building in very central location. Very comfortable large bed. Shared roof top.

Tricky to locate due to one way streets however adequate information provided. We just got lost. No TV

The position of the studio in the centre of Tavira was fine for seeing the town. The bed was comfortable but the cleanliness overall was questionable. The free parking is great but it is 7 minutes walk away over cobbled streets.

The description of a 'stylish studio' is completely misleading - 'basic studio' would be more accurate. The 'fully equipped kitchenette' comprised an old refrigerator, a kettle and some sort of electric ring kept in the cupboard under the sink behind three saucepans which had seen better days, together with an incomplete and mismatched set of cutlery. There is no '24-hour front desk' and the 'city views' are a derelict building on one side and an apartment block on the other, both about 15 feet away from the studio window. The 'outdoor dining area' is outside the studio and up two flights of stairs. We booked and paid for 5 nights but had to leave after 2 because it was impossible to sleep. The street noise continued into the early hours with loud conversations, shouting and incessant dog barking just outside until well after 2 a.m.

I had to send reminders to get the access code and didn't get it until the afternoon before leaving. It wasn't easy to find the apartment as there didn't appear to be a street name displayed (not the owners fault). Just glad we didn't arrive in the dark! So a written description of where it is would help. The shower would be better if it was enclosed rather than just having a curtain.

Perfect location, great roof terrace - perfect for an evening glass of wine, altogether very nice room. Great room design.

The kitchenette is not suitable for cooking, but completely OK for preparing a salad or some cold tapas.

the studio is spacious, light and lovely decorated. good bed also. Windows are dubble glazed. situated in the town centre but quiet

as it was januari the sink didn’t reach the room and as the building is not heated it was chilly and damp inside. espacially in the bathroom where the towels didn’t dry and stayed clammy during our stay. also we had an invasion of hundreds tiny ants for two days, looking for water in the sink. we were provided with poison but we didn’t like using this

The kitchen was very basic, there was only 2 of everything in the cutlery. There were no side plates. The towels were very poor quality.
