loved everything about it….. felt like we were living in a medieval 🏰 town. Raphael was so helpful and kind with lovely touches like ham cheese tomatoes bread bowl of fruit cereal eggs everything you would need for breakfast 🍳. thank you Raphael

It property is perfectly located inside the walls of Obidos. It is freshly decorated and impecably clean. The host was super welcoming, communicated well and went above and beyond with food and gifts to make us feel welcome. He even ensured a parking spot for us close to the property.

I can’t say enough about our host, Rafael. He went above and beyond for our stay there. Our car broke down when we arrived. He spent hours with us helping to communicate in Portuguese with car company and mechanic. Basically, he was a life saver. Aside from that, he couldn’t have been more helpful, warm and accommodating in explaining about his home and Obidos. His home was lovely with wonderful added artistic touches. It was well supplied with everything we needed. It was in a perfect location for exploring Obidos. He also picked us up to take us to the taxi we had to take when we left. Thank you, Rafael, for hosting us and for all your kindness. Would stay there again and again.

Friendly, attentive and helpful host. Fabulous location inside the castle walls. The home is renovated but retains many historical details. Beautiful outdoor terraces with both sun and shade options and the opportunity to eat outdoors.

Everything! From the friendliness and warmth of our host meeting us to relaxing in this beautiful house and an even more beautiful and hisotirc village. Rafael was so hopeful as we were travelling from another part of Portugal via public transport during a train strike! He was in communication with us the whole time and very kindly helped us get to the property. On arrival he spent time taking us around the property and explaining how everything work and the fascinating history of the building itself. He was/is an exceptional host and we certainly hope to stay with him again in the future. There were some really unexpected treats included such as a sample of Ginja (the local liquor), provisions in the kitchen inlcuding eggs, fresh coffee, bread, milk, cheese and a fresh fruit - totally unexpected but very much welcome. The house is amazing, with various levels to the garden area which enable us to sit and enjoy the sun during our few days there relaxing in the swing seat or by the pizza oven and watch the world go by. The town itself is so pictureque. Every turn opens up to another amazing view. The local shops offer a good range of local ceramics and foods and the restaurants look amazing. We choose to dine in, after all the house is so wonderful why would we want to go out! On one evening we even had the log fire going to take away the evening chill. Obidos is an amazing place to visit for a few days or to use as a base to get to other locations such as the nearby Nazare beach which has the largest waves in the world! And this house is the perfect base to explore from, relax and just enjoy the ambience and magic of the place.

Rafael is an exceptional host and his home is extraordinarily charming. The kindness and warmth that Rafael shows his guest is an indicator of not only how well versed he is in the tourism and hospitality industry, but also just what a genuinely kind person he is. The home is an incredible value with 3 full rooms, 2 bathrooms, and an extremely large patio/garden area right in the center of Óbidos. Everything was absolutely perfect.
