Caledon Country House

The view! It was refreshing to watch the sunrise every morning from the comfort of your bed. The fireplace was a life saver, during winter it's a must and creates a lovely atmosphere as a bonus. Location: distance to town is perfect, it allows for a peaceful experience away from the hustle of the town. But still close enough that you can quickly pop into town for whatever reason. The cleaning service really helps you relax without worrying who is going to do the dishes... The rooms were comfortable. Single beds all around, which was perfect for our needs and the dynamics of our group. Kitchen is fully equipped. The owners were really helpful and friendly with directions and tips on how to use certain things in the house. Will definitely stay here again.

Maybe some steak knives in the kitchen. Or a knife sharpener.

This house is in a gorgeous location, only about 4 min away from the town. We loved the peace and quiet. The fireplace is so cosy and the hosts provided lots of wood. The bedrooms are far apart and perfect for me-time after a day of activities.

We were unsure of the exact house as it does not have a board indicating it, but we also failed to read the detailed directions sent by the hosts. The house looked a bit dodgy from the side, but we had such a pleasant surprise when entering it. I would definitely go back. The showers need some attention and one of my light switches did not work.

This property had a lovely spacious communal area with a fire place. The 3 main rooms also have a stunning view overlooking the valley and farms in front of the property. We were late for check in but the host made a plan for us and head the keys in a location so that a late arrival was possible.

The pin location took us the wrong way at first but if you go according to hosts direction you will find the property very easily. We also arrived at night and it was super simple so really not even a problem.

The view and peacefulness were out of this world. There was plenty of living area both indoors and outdoors. Although the town of Clarens is great we would really recommend that you take long slow drives on both the Golden Gate road and the Fouriesburg road.

I know Clarens gets really cold, but it would be nice if there was a fan in each bedroom and the lounge.

We loved the space, the view and the quiet.

Bath water pressure is problematic (shower is fine) and stove needs repair.

It was my second visit to this property, the previous visit was just over 4 years ago. Not much maintenance has been done on this property. I think it could go a long way. Especially opening the doors, water pressure etc.

Well equipped, easy to access, plenty of undercover parking. Very spacious, comfortable beds.

They could do a little bit more to alleviate load shedding, a small inverter to run lights, tv & fridges would be a welcome addition.
