Porto Antico

Our stay at Porto Antico was truly unforgettable. The location is absolutely perfect—right in the heart of the old town, surrounded by charming restaurants, lively shops, and everything you might need just steps away. But what truly made our experience exceptional was our host, Andrea. From the very beginning, Andrea went above and beyond. He welcomed us personally at the central train station and kindly drove us to the accommodation. On the way, he even gave us a short but delightful tour of the city to help us get our bearings. On the day of our departure, he once again offered us a ride and surprised us with thoughtful farewell gifts. His warmth and generosity made us feel genuinely cared for. Throughout our stay, Andrea was always available and happy to share fantastic recommendations—from hidden gems to must-see spots and excellent places to eat. Thanks to his tips, we got to experience the best the city has to offer. The apartment itself was spotless, beautifully maintained, and full of thoughtful touches. It was stocked with everything we could possibly need—from personal care essentials to fresh fruit, tasty snacks, and even a bottle of prosecco to enjoy on the lovely rooftop terrace. We absolutely loved our time here and wholeheartedly recommend this accommodation. You’ll not only have a comfortable stay but also get a true taste of southern Italian hospitality and warmth.

Andrea was an excellent host - my wife and I can’t say enough good things about him!! He accommodated our earlier check in time and responded to us quickly when we had questions prior to our arrival. He was welcoming and gave us a great introduction to Bari (it was our first time in Bari). His restaurant recommendations were excellent! The property was clean and is located in a great location in old town. There were many friendly local residents living in the area and we truly felt like we were living in an Italian neighborhood. We highly recommend this property!

All the opinions are true - Porto Antico is an amazing place to stay and it definately exceeded our expectations! The place itself is super cute, very clean, probably has anything you might need (even including stuff like body lotion or face masks to sleep), fully equippped kitchen, airconditioning in every room, and overall is just an extremely nice, cosy house with very pretty italian-fisherman decor and a great attention to details. The host is absolutely wonderful, super helpful, not only did he take us from the train station and showed around the city, but when he found out what specific traditions we're interested in, it didn't take long for us to receive the email from him with details of where and how we can find it. The places he recommended to eat were amazing, throuthout all our stay we knew that if we needed help with anything, we will receive it, not to mention thoughtfull present we received at the end of our stay. We've travelled a lot through Italy in past couple of years and I have to say it was one of the absolute best experiences we've had. Thank you so much, it was a great pleasure for us!

Not a problem for me, but just keep in mind the whole place is an apartment house and each room is located on a different floor - kitchen and small bathroom on floor 0, day room on 1st floor, bedroom 2nd, bathroom with biggest balcony 3rd. It's a typical Italian building, we thought it was amazing, but if you have any mobility issues this place unfortunately isn't for you. If you don't - do youself a favor and book it :)

Well- located in the old Port of Bari. It only takes 15 mins to walk to the "Citta Vecchia" and 5 mins walk to pick up foods nearby. Instead of taking a taxi on the one day of our arrival, we took a bus no: 50 from the Bari Centrale and alight at "Porto Fonte".. It is so easy to locate the house.

Warm hosting loveley little house

Everything about our stay was perfect: the host was so friendly and nice, he even picked us up at the station to bring us to the house- together with his charming son…. We liked the house very much, it was tasteful, clean and comfortable and had a very nice atmosphere. The neighbourhood is lovely too, very close to all the sights and the sea promenade. We will definitely choose to stay here again next time!

My best stay in any accommodation ever! Andrea is the warmest and most welcoming host that makes you feel very taken care of! The house is very nice to stay in, makes you feel like home already at the beginning at your stay. Evenings in the house with beautiful warm light outside made by the colour of the buildings but also waking up in the house being so close to the sea, port and in the historical center are really magical moments and make you feel the history that is surrounding you. The house is situated just in the heart of the city but also in this really cute, peaceful street that makes you feel very comfortable. A great, memorable experience. And Andrea and his really kind son are not only amazing hosts but also meeting them for the first time felt like reuniting with my very good friends :)
