Stodham House with Minster views!

Very welcoming, homely, comfortable and spacious house. Well laid out rooms. Ground floor is almost like a self contained flat with two bedrooms and a kitchen and bathroom. Kitchen, dining and sitting rooms all beautifully furnished and laid out. Also separate bathroom on that level. Upstairs bedrooms again very comfortable and fabulous bathroom too. All beds really comfortable and clean. Totally ideal for our family of five adults. to attend a family wedding at the Grand Hotel. Also lovely little touches like milk in the fridges, tea and coffee and condiments plus washing up things. Excellent parking with supermarkets 5 mins walk away. Incredibly convenient for the city centre as it is located 5 mins walk from Monk Bar. Just a brilliant property!

The house is on a busy road and the front bedrooms were quite noisy.

Host's were marvelous, very helpful and kept in good contact

Location is perfect for exploring beautiful York on foot. Having Parking was great. The house is a lovely period property and the beds were comfortable. We had a fabulous time in York itself with children aged 10-18 well entertained.

The layout of the house might not suit some, having to access the downstairs bathroom through the bunk bed room, but we have 3 boys so it was workable for us. In keeping with an older property the water pressure in showers was low and one didn't drain well. We would have appreciated a vegetable peeler and a couple of baking trays to make cooking for a large family easier. My husband couldn't shave all week as the downstairs sink was too small and the upstairs sink is under a low eave with no mirror.

Amazing house and location. Wonderful hosts and I loved the quirkiness of the accommodation. Loved it.

It was perfect.

The property was chosen (1) for its proximity to the main sightseeing attractions (2) that it is big enough to accommodate all of my family members and (3) it has a parking space at rear of property and also a public carpark next door for more cars.

Perhaps a little investigation should be conducted to see whether a certain unpleasant odour could be rid of in the ground floor utility room and the connecting shower room/toilet please. We poured dettol down the drain a couple of times to no avail.

Lots of room for eight people of three generations. Close to the walls of the city, a short walk into York. It's clean and comfortable. Owners are good at communicating. Didn't use the car during our stay. Could walk back to the house during the day.

It's on a main road so it can be noisy. The back of the house is very quiet. The downstairs toilet and shower are through the bedroom containing the bunk beds.
