"kind host, good value, would recommend"

responsive host, close enough to beach and what little town there is (5-10 min walk max), spacious for four, extra outdoor shower, dishwasher and washing machine.

clothes line only for drying clothes outside. not normally bad except there was rain some point during stay. clothes took a long time to dry. maybe if they had indoor clothes rack that would help or line under eaves too. lack of screens so open windows invited insects especially at night - but I think no screens is typical in NZ.
