This accommodation is nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment we arrived, we knew we were experiencing something truly rare. Shohei is an exceptional concierge whose warmth, grace, and attention to detail are beyond anything we have encountered before. He personally met us on both arrival and departure and cared for us throughout our stay with such genuine kindness and thoughtfulness. The accommodation itself is immaculate to a level that feels almost unreal, spotless, quiet and beautifully maintained. The beds were incredibly comfortable, and despite visiting Kyoto during a very cold winter, our room was always perfectly warm and inviting. Each evening, Shohei placed hot water bottles into our beds a thoughtful and luxurious touch that made us feel completely cared for. Breakfast was exquisite, beautifully prepared, delicious, and an absolute highlight of each morning. The bathroom was equally impressive, a beautiful bath that stayed at the perfect set temperature the whole time you were in it. The bathroom was also stocked with high-end products and everything one could possibly need at the highest standard. My daughter and I were constantly in awe of how fortunate we were to stay here and be treated with such extraordinary hospitality. This experience was truly once in a lifetime and will forever remain our most memorable stay. Nothing will ever compare, and we sincerely hope to return one day to see Shohei and his remarkable team.

Everything was perfect. The accommodation is an easy 6 min walk to two train stations too. It is in such a great spot away from all the crowds of Kyoto.

This home is truly something special. It is more than an accommodation. It is an experience in itself. Shohei is an amazing concierge. Shin was so kind and helpful. They should teach hospitality classes. The accommodation was absolutely immaculately clean. The bathroom is outdoors, but still quite luxurious. Do not let that stop you from this experience. There was no dust or cobwebs on the ceiling of the bathroom. I am extremely detail-oriented and this place has set my standards so high I may be spoiled rotten. The beds are so comfortable. The lighting is adequate and comfortable in both day and night. The breakfasts blew my mind. They use the best product for every amenity, from the soaps to the breakfast items. This place has been created with consideration of anyone's needs. This is like a stay in an art gallery—the genkan walls are painted by a famous Japanese artist Kimura Hideki. I wish I spent more than two nights here. If you are planning a trip to Kyoto, stay here for the entirety of your time in the city. My husband and I truly feel lucky being able to stay here.

If this place is available you should definitely book it! We stayed at the east garden suite and loved it. First, the hosts were incredibly helpful, going out of their way to call restaurants for us to check availability and make reservations, giving us detailed recommendations for sight seeing and food, and bringing us snacks in the evening. Communication was very easy with them. Second, the space itself was really beautiful; it is an old house that has been tastefully renovated to have modern luxuries (e.g. air conditioning, espresso machine, nice bathroom, western bed) while still maintaining the historic character of a traditional Japanese house from the early 20th century (e.g. tatami mats, sliding paper doors, zen garden, traditional mural). It was extremely comfortable and clean.

I cannot say enough amazing things about the staff and the property!!! This was our favorite place we stayed and our favorite city! I loved all the personal, cultural, and practical touches of the property. The staff were so nice and communicative! I honestly looked forward to coming back everyday to see what small refreshment, fruit, or dessert was waiting for us! They provided us with recommendations and answered any questions we had. They explained about the property and the local flavors to try. This was truly a highlight of our trip and I would recommend staying here to anyone!!!

Je suis arrivée dans cette maison traditionnelle et j’ai eu la chance d’obtenir un accueil plus que chaleureux de la part de Shohei et Shin. Le logement est un havre de paix. Il convient parfaitement aux personnes souhaitant profiter d’un moment de sérénité seules ou accompagnées. Par ailleurs, le petit déjeuner proposé par les hôtes permet de découvrir de nouvelles saveurs pour une expérience authentique. Je reviendrai avec grand plaisir.
