Owner was very friendly, went out of his way to make sure we had a good stay. Guesthouse was perfect after a long day of hiking, his food at the restaurant was just what we needed!

Beautiful house with all kinds of wonderful decorations and amenities I particularly enjoyed the hammock. Host was very kind and hospitable. Beautiful area and town, nice people.

"Beautiful experience, wonderful place"

We felt very privileged to sleep in an authentic old village house, which we had all for ourselves. It felt like being invited in a local family. The owner (who is very friendly) has a restaurant close to the guest house, we highly recommend you try it too, as the food is delicious!

An old style rural Japanese family home full of history and magic. Tucked away just off the main road we felt like we were miles away from the world. Easy access to the onsens and Kumano Kodo trails by bus or a nice walk. We could have stayed here much longer and our host Manabu was such a delight. A highlight for us on our time on the Kii peninsular..

"Perfect stay in a beautiful house, close to an excellent onsen"

We loved staying here so much. The house is beautiful, and very well-equipped. Manabu is a wonderful host! He stopped by in the morning and left us delicious onigiri as a parting gift. Don’t miss dinner at his yakitori restaurant.

We loved the house and all its features. It was like living in a real Japanese home. Great location. Peaceful and quiet. Fantastic and helpful host. We had a great meal at his yakitori restaurant. And he even left some lovely rice balls for us to have for breakfast the following day even though meals were not included.

"Very good"

Really authentic place. Old school and cool with the tatami rooms, open fire pit and direct access to garden. The river runs right next to the house and has a nice sound.
