Very friendly and personal welcome

Beautiful traditional Japanese home nestled in the mountains. Very large area to enjoy, and every single facility one could wish for to have a complete stay. Tranquility, peace, and being with nature.

Very cool traditional house, well-maintained and clean. Manabu is a welcoming host, he introduced us to all the amenities and answered all our questions. He owns a little izakaya that is two minutes away from the house which opens until 10pm; great spot for dinner if you arrive late because there are no convenient stores or other opened restaurants nearby. Manabu also left delicious rice balls and a handwritten note at our door before we departed in the morning; we are very appreciative of his courtesy and hospitality!

The toilet and shower area has no air conditioning, and given the location and the nature of the house, you can expect some bugs in the no-A/C area, which makes the experience less comfortable in the hot summer.

Charming old Japanese house in perfect location. Host has thought of everything you might need. Easy walk to Watase Onsen. Delicious dinner at Yakatori restaurant. Easy bus to Kumano Kodo. Relax at house listening to birds.

The house was very traditional and interesting

The bathroom was not clean.

The traditional farmhouse was beautiful and relaxed. We were treated with such kindness and generosity by our host Manabu San including an unexpected bonus of breakfast. He discreetly came in the morning and left the warm rice balls. We enjoyed them while watching the birds feeding on seeds Manabu left for them. We also loved eating at Manabu's restaurant down the road, a tiny bar that is very popular with locals and visitors.

Everything about this place is great. The owner is very friendly, welcoming and helpful. We met him at his nearby yakitori restaurant (which is also amazing) and he took us to the house. Such a peaceful place as you have the entire house to yourself. There is a kotatsu for warming yourself up if its cold, lovely areas to sit inside/outside and watch the birds, lots of space, clean and comfortable bedding, and the building itself is lovely. The owner also gave us discount vouchers to an onsen a short walk away which was incredible.
