Beautifully designed. Spacious with great facilities

The bathroom area downstairs, albeit a great design, was freezing in the morning and evenings making a shower or bath uncomfortable

We liked the modern bathroom surrounded by a little garden. The washing machine helps a lot. It has heated floors and a big kitchen. The house is well located and has parking really close and cheap. The accommodation is really well priced for what you get.

We expected to see the garden that booking shows you but it was still nice but not as beautiful as the other one. The couch was uncomfortable. The house is in front of a school, so expect to have some noise early in the morning, but we don't mind because at that time you should be visiting kyoto places.

It’s very spacious and clean. All facilities and electronic appliances are new. The house is so beautiful, even more beautiful than I imagined. My friends and I all enjoyed our stay at the house.

Love everything about the machiya, the minimalist design, location. It’s right opposite a schoolsnd it’s interesting to see how the local school works in the morning

The entire house is stellar, tucked away in the outskirts where it is quiet and cozy. A helpful map was provided of local attractions. The rooms were modern designs fit into a rustic building, tatami room and all. Bathroom was stunning and well stocked albeit not too private. Kitchen was comfortable and packed with all the tools and more, you could easily cook for yourself and others if you liked. Bedroom was spacious but cozy. Staff met us shortly after arriving and spoke perfect English to help us get settled in.

The building is a fair way from the train station - about 40 minutes on foot (bus is also available). Paying the accomodation tax on the door wasn't particularly nice and may cause some people issues if they lack wifi or data. Fair warnimg, you are directly opposite a Primary School (literally 10 feet away) so your mornings are loud as children arrive. We heard assemnlies, roll call, nursery rhymes, Disney songs and the Jurrasic Park theme of all things!! It was amusing, but some may find it off putting. Though the bathroom is gorgeous, ot lacks privacy in some ways, having a meager white curtain to conceal you, leaving little to the imagination. Not to mention the windows that allow you to see straight through from certain angles! On top of that, I had a fight with shower temperature one night - perhaps because of the bath, and all but 1 light went out on me after about 1AM. Finally, if you scare easily or are a tad supersticious, you may want to gird yourself, after dark the area is so still that the house starts to feel eerie with its nooks, tall ceiling and blind corners. If you've seen a few too many Japanese horror films you're liable to look over your shoulder all night.

We didn’t get the breakfast, but I did have to reach out to help coordinate luggage pick up (from FUKA) and delivery to our Tokyo hotel. The person I chatted with made everything so simple and streamlined the service for us. They’re organized and logical approach to everything made the stay stress free. Highly recommend! Also, the most beautiful bathroom ever.

We loved the location. It’s perfect for a family or someone/a couple that doesn’t mind a 20-30 minute walk to get to some of the tourist attractions. It’s exactly what we were looking for, but for guests trying to go out and drink and socialize late at night, this is not for you.
