The host was great: they picked us up and took us back to the train station and gave us useful information about events, places to eat and things to do. They were always reachable and ready to help! The house is a traditional 'samurai' style house, cosy and well equipped with very good air conditioning. The area is full with typical small restaurants and commodity markets. In less than 10 mins walk we could get on a bus/metro/local train to reach every corner of the city.

The staff was above and beyond, even for Japanese customer service. Akane picked us up and dropped us off at the train station.

Nice location, traditional house, very friendly host. And even a coffee machine !!!!

Wonderful place to stay. Living like a local. Easy to travel around Kyoto. The staff is very nice and great hospitality.

It's easy to tell they have experiences to accommodate families, by various thoughtful equipment. They are willing to deal with problems quickly. We just asked them about the rubbish clearing, the staff came immediately; when we report the unfounded water fountain, they arranged repairing right away. The location is great, not too noisy but it's only two-subway- station to approach to the hot spots, and the station is only 3-min walk. Moreover, there's a convenient store, a supermarket and a farmacy nearby for kinds of needs.

Thought the equipment is well-set, but it's a bit lack of maintenance. Some shelves, hooks, and places are little dusty, and the baby bed looks lovely, but it might have been stored for a long time by smelling it. There's a shared problem of old-house - pipe system. The toilet flushes didn't go well every time, and it's two adults staying for five nights could have found out.

Great facilities, bathroom, lots of space. 711 across road so very convenient for food.

Unfortunately there was a bit of noise with people at the 711 late at night.

Everything. HOST was very nice, helped us with the luggage forwarding, and she also came to our rescue when the water heater malfunctioned at around 11 pm. My children feedback that the futon beds were very comfortable to sleep on!. I love the coffee machine!

The low ceilings. Hit my head a few times when going down the stairs.
