Very nice location, close to subway and city bus

Self catering accommodation, close to public transport, supermarket, 7/11 across the street, and plenty of good restaurants. Host was very responsive and responded appropriately when minor issues arose.

As previously mentioned, old traditional house, with low ceilings. Not an issue for me, but the other half did bang his head a few times. However, this is not unique to this accommodation. Would stay again.

Communication is surprisingly efficient despite the language barrier. The host is very nice, friendly, and quick to respond to any questions. The room is clean, with everything we need.

The stairs are a little narrow and unstable. The bathroom is on the first floor, making it a little inconvenient to go at night. However, considering that this is the old style Japanese house and the incredible experience of living in it, we do not have any complaints!

Everything! The accomodation is amazing - it just has everything you might need. The location is perfect - close to train and bus stations. We would 100% stay again!

Nothing.

This is a great way of experiencing the traditional Kyoto way of living. A wooden house, 8 min from the subway, and from there 2 stops to the famous bridge. The (co) hosts are superb. Great enjoyable people and very helpful. There is a 7 eleven opposite of the road, but 4 min walk away there is a great Life supermarket with everytjing u can dream of. Overall, highly recommendable place to stay a few days with your family or as a couple. Just watch your head when walking on the first floor…..it is a samoerai protected house 😅

Like in many Japanese places, there were hardly any knives available. But u can manage.

the house was great. Japanese charm with all the needed amenities.

Our host has been very welcoming and friendly. He spent some time explaining what could be visited in Kyoto and around. He answered all our questions regarding food shopping or Japanese way of life we had. The place is well equipped with a functional kitchen, washing and dry machine. Kids loved sleeping on tatami and wearing kimono in the evening and we really enjoyed being a traditional house for our stay. Additionally the house is well localised, very close to stop buses or walking distance from nijo castle.

a very nice place to stay in Kyoto. a lot of equipments ( fridge, coffee machine, microwave, water machine, … milk, coffee ,…). he picked us at the train station and dropped us ( to be confirmed with his availabilities) close to a metro station ( 5 min ) or buses

just a slab remark : some more cleaning under the bed !

The host was very friendly. We were in a nice neighborhood and convenient location for the trains, buses. Easy to get food. We were able to cook, shower, eat, sleep, etc. with ease. The washer for clothes also doubled as a dryer. The place felt safe. espresso machine was useful. The nice big table was good for my family. extra robes to wear.

of course, Japanese homes in the city are on the small side, but this was expected.

The host met us at the train station in his own car, created a relationship with us, and personally gave us a tour of the house. Authentic experience in a clean, safe, and great location! I will return again.

Could use a few more small knives in kitchen.
