It’s our babymoon and we splurge a little for this time. Turns out we really love the room!! The room is sooooo spacious for 2 persons, and it’s sparkling clean. What I like the most about the place is the scrumptious breakfast prepared. It’s the most delicious meal that I ever had in Kyoto. Of course the hospitality of the family made us extra warm throughout our stay. They take care of us so well that we told ourselves to bring our kid here next time!

There’s nothing that we don’t like about.

Amazing experience in a traditional house and garden the heart of Kyoto. Would definitely recommend to anyone staying in the city. The hosts are extremely friendly and generous with their time; making you feel right at home. It was an unforgettable experience and the highlight of our trip!

Staying in Jeugiya was the best choice we’ve made for our trip in Japan. We are already back home now, we miss them, the kind, thoughtful family. If you want to experience Kyoto deeply, choose here! It’s not only about living in a Japanese Ryokan, you can also have a great time with this warm local family. It was such a precious experience that I will think about it all the time. The whole house was so beautiful and well equipped, I’d like going back for thousand times! And you must try the breakfast! It will make your day brighter😋.

The host family was a warm, detailed, and artsy test. The welcome tea and homemade dessert were terrific, and breakfast was so pretty and delicious. The delicate garden, the old paintings, the antique furniture, the bathtub…. Everything is perfect. They even prepare pajamas for us. We can not wait to go back and stay there again.

Literally everything! All the decorations, vibe and all the details! I really appreciate the hospitable service from the family, you just feel like home:) The location is pretty central as well, walkable to several spots for tourists. Would definitely recommend to all the people looking for a nice hut house in Kyoto and it was one of my highlights during the trip! If you spend few hundred bucks in hotel why don’t you spend on this traditional and historical Japanese hut house! It worth every penny PS: the breakfast is nice too, can’t miss that:) Would definitely recommend and stay again next time, thanks again for hosting us!

Jeugiya was such a dream to stay in; from the impeccable cleanliness of our bedrooms and bathrooms, comfortable tatami beds, gorgeous garden, wonderful breakfast single-handedly prepared by our lady host (she even made us mochis)! Even the shower gel/shampoo/conditioner provided was of high quality. The location was great too; only a short walk away from the famous and picturesque Gion town, and Yasaka Pagoda. But what impressed us the most was the amazing hospitality of our hosts. From the moment we arrived, they have been the sweetest and most welcoming, making sure that we were comfortable and well taken care of. Their thoughtfulness and attention to detail was top-notch, and unparalleled by any other place I’ve stayed in. So if you’re looking for a place to pamper yourself and get away from the hustle and bustle of the city, this beautiful ryokan is for you.

I’m not a type of person leaving the comments on booking, but I have to get back on this review. Jeugiya is the BEST stay that I have experienced these years. The host was super warm, nice and professional. The house is exactly as what it looks in picture, very authentic Japanese style in good maintenance. My boyfriend caught a fever during travel, the host sent us meds immediately, and even led us to drug store in person and tried to translate everything to us. This was beyond their responsibility but they insisted to offer. We felt so touched. And they were also very kind to introduce Kyoto’s history and gave us tons of tips on travelling. I would say I definitely will recommend Jeugiya to my friends!

Nothing. Everything’s so great!

The host family are one of the kindest persons we met on our trips around the globe (more than words could ever describe). The house ist amazing, there is nothing better than to wake up and look in the awesome garden behind the house. The breakfast is made with so much love and in the evening they even bring us a bottle of sake and have a little chat. All in all, it doesn't get better than this. Thank you for all, dear family Muta!

Everything was perfekt!

The family were incredibly gracious and kind. They welcomed us in at check out with a wonderful homemade cake and some tea. Then we were given a tour of the beautiful space we had for the day, and after we returned from sightseeing and dinner, our beds were set out for us. The garden and living space were both so beautiful, we felt instantly so relaxed here. And after checking out, we were even given a ride to our next accommodation! Thank you so much for an incredible stay.
