Just great in the heart of Sassi

Matera is such an amazing place and the location of this apartment is ideal for exploring the town. Also the views from the terrace are spectacular! Michele met us at our car park and showed us to the apartment which was fabulous. On the way he pointed out some of the iconic spots and gave us a restaurant recommendation that turned out perfectly. We would love to come back to Matera some time and we would definitely stay here again.

Excellent location, nice terrace and view, nice host. Nice bathroom.

Parking at some distance but this was to be expected in a place like Matera. The two rooms are not separated, location for two adults or family.

Lovely host Michele met us at the carpark & walked us down to the apartment pointing out restaurants, shops & information about the Sassi along the way. About a 10 min walk downhill with a fair amount of luggage then some steps was manageble. Don’t let this put you off, the walk is well worth it. Beautiful spacious apartment (no. 10) with incredible views of the Sassi. Lovely furnishings, chairs & table to take in the amazing views from the balcony, comfortable bed, spacious bathrroom with 2 sinks & great shower. All the necessary kitchen implements including coffee maker were supplied. The location is hard to beat. Close to shops, restaurants, main attractions & just a short walk uphill to the new town. We loved this place & will definitely be back.

Location perfect, lovely balcony with view. Host was very friendly. Would stay again in special Matera.

Nothing that bothered me

Pick up from train station. Good facilities.

Couldn’t connect internet. 2 bedside lamps didn’t seem to work. Flashing exit light disrupted sleep.

There were pluses and minuses. First the positives included Michela’s personal welcome to the beautiful city of Matera, the location of the hotel, and the overall experience of staying in a cave. The minuses included a non-useable handheld shower wand and bathtub which was the main feature of this particular unit, the lack of air, one roll of toilet paper for two people over two full days, and body lotion that appeared to be discolored (brown).

La Corte Dei Cavalieri is a most beautiful location overlooking the ‘Rock Church’ and just a few steps from the Main Street of the Sassi. It has a lovely private balcony that is shaded after mid morning. The apartment is really stunning with a large very comfortable bed and bathroom with walk in shower and double sinks. It was generally quiet and fabulous! We found it easier to access with a suitcase from Via Bruno Buozzi rather than from the top which took you via 70 steps- although the vista is great!

The kitchen is poorly equipped which is such a shame and seems unnecessary for an apartment of this high quality: one wine glass, no dishes to make a salad, or good sharp knife to cut a piece of bread or fruit. The coffee machine leaked.

Great hosts who met us at the entrance to the car park and led us to the property. Excellent location a few minutes walk (up a series of steps) to main restaurant and bar area. Very peaceful terrace despite being in the middle of the city. Good coffee maker and wifi.

Due to steps, slightly inconvenient getting bags to and from car park, but we knew this would be the case before arriving. No aircon in the apartment, but a quiet fan was provided which made sleeping easier.
