Ruwan Jungle Homestay

Everything! Location/ jungle vibe/ ruwan hosting skills…

It was all perfect..

Although only 10 minutes from the main beach front, it is a very nice quiet spot. The plot is full of lush plants and foliage, which is cool. The room was spacious with a lovely bed and mosquito net. With a variety of local options at breakfast time. Ruwan and his family are very very nice, nothing is too much trouble either to provide or arrange for you. A very nice touch I thought was a large number of chilled bottles of water waiting for you in the fridge, rather than the usual one bottle. A little thing, but very thoughtful when you are visiting a country where hydration is important, and a great example of how kind they are.

Ruwan was a great host. Always accecible, helped us with Tuk tuk rides (has his own), polite and nice. Room was clean and as expected. Good value for money. Short walk to the beach.

Ruwan is a really nice Person who takes Care of everything you need. The Home feels like the Name - Jungle Pure. It was an amazing stay. Thank you so much having us.

Close to the center and into the jungle in the meantime. The host is very helpful for everything you will need during your stay. The Breakfast included is really nice !

Having travelled throughout South East Asia for many years we found our room, the service, the location and the amazing wildlife to be the most authentic and genuine experience we have ever had. We stayed for a total of 19 nights. Our long stay was made even more special by the exceptional levels of hospitality and sincere care shown towards us by Ruwan and His Wife Sasangi who also provided us with the most beautiful food made from local ingredients, Sasangi is an extraordinary cook all of which is provided from their family kitchen. For those looking to enjoy a real taste of Sri Lankan life in idyllic surroundings then look no further. We can't recommend Ruwans Jungle Homestay highly enough....a score of 10 just doesn't do it justice we wish we were able to give it far more than that. Deepest thanks and love to Ruwan ,Sasangi and their two daughters for a wonderful and memorable stay.

Ruwan was the best host we’ve ever had. His family are lovely and made us a wonderful dinner one evening. He sorted a whale watching tour for us for a discounted rate and taxied us around when needed. He went above and beyond at every given opportunity. The room was clean and had air con, a fridge and plenty of free water.

There is really nice garden and hammock. It’s nice to chill there. The place was clean and also it’s great to have big fridge with water. The host is nice and answers all your questions.

If you’re an introvert the host can be a little overwhelming. Also it’s really loud in the morning.

Ruwan’s place is the perfect spot for your trip to Mirissa. It’s cozy and tucked away in a charming garden with a hammock and a kitchenette. Ruwan is an incredible host with a huge heart. He gave us great tips, booked and delivered a whale-watching trip, and even made sure we woke up early at 6 am to catch the boat. He arranged our transportation back to the airport and even offered to pack us dinner for the ride. The place is close to some fantastic restaurants and just 700 meters from Mirissa beach. Highly recommend – 10/10!
