The Boathouse

Location is superb. Fitted out very well.

Staircase was a problem for me (6’1”). Bed is a little tired. The terrace barriers would be much better if they were glass. My wife couldn’t see over them when sat down.

Unique and beautifully presented. Exceptionally clean and elegant. The location is outstanding located in the harbour itself and yards from the local facilities.

Nothing. The stairs were a little tight, but that adds to the ambiance of the property.

Lovely location right in the harbour and literally in the sea when tide is in. Easy to walk to both sides of the harbour and no steps or hills required if you don't want to. Bed was comfy and warm, the bath was so big and relaxing. Nice big sofa to relax on also and decking area with tables and seats, we even managed to make us of in February as we had lovely sun.

Just a few bits, communication was slow and we didn't get check-in details or parking info till we had already set off on the day of check in. The fireplace was an electric fire, and there was no tv in the bedroom, we did advise them the details need updating, so hopefully that's been done now.

The location is amazing. On arrival it was bigger than we expected. The photos don’t do it justice it’s incredible. It was very cozy, clean and comfortable. Very well equipped with everything you could need. We really loved it.

Small double bed. Steep spiral staircase. No parking. These are minor things compared to how fabulous it is.

Amazing location. Have always wanted to stay here since I’ve been coming to Whitby. Loved being able to sit on the patio and watch the world go by. Could be both quiet and lively but when you’re on the patio you’re pretty private, a little noise from nearby bars but that’s to be expected, you are in the centre of Whitby. People mention that the patio is a little weathered but to be honest if I spent most of my life in the North Sea I’d be a little weathered too! Everything in the Boat House is catered for, from the dishwasher to all of the cutlery, crockery and cooking implements. An absolutely beautiful place and will hopefully return at some point.

Loved everything. If there is anything that would make it better it would be parking nearby, but being regular visitors to Whitby we were fully aware that this is an impossibility as parking is difficult throughout Whitby, although a pass is left for you for the Westcliff area for a small charge of £10. We were lucky and managed to get a free space further up on Church Street. You can drop off and pick up outside the boathouse which is a bonus.

We liked the cosy little house in a great location - it was very warm , in fact too warm at times. The property had everything we needed for a short stay, although we did not cook anything in the kitchen.

There needs to be more instructions on appliances , tv set up etc. The bed was uncomfortable and the bedding did not fit the bed. Our parents came to visit Whitby on our second day there and we had to ask them to bring a larger duvet as the duvet provided was too small, with no overhang. The decking area was good but needs some attention in places before the warm weather arrives. The bunting and flags create a disturbing noise in the wind so much so you can't sleep ( it was very windy though ) they are pretty well worn too. We have never stayed anywhere as warm ( so no complaints about that ) the thermostat is permanently fixed / glued on 25 degrees , this needs to be explained as to why it is like this , we just turned the individual radiator thermostats down. Please take our comments as constructive feedback.

location was excellent! You can also drive right up to the property to load and unload your bags, which is really helpful being as you are in the heart of Whitby.

Nothing, everything was perfect, quirky and convenient to all the shops, bars and attractions. Views from each window was superb. Did miss having a full height shower, but totally understandable due to the sloping ceilings in the boathouse!

The location is great for views of the harbour, it’s been fitted out well and to a high standard.

The stairs in the property are a bit of a challenge but there is no other way for the owners to do it.

Location and cleanliness.

Would have liked a cafetière or similar for coffee. Some maintenance is required, plug sockets loose, stair banister top loose.
