The Boathouse

Great location and views.

Only one key. Bed too small. Kitchen could do with more crockery. No WiFi available.

The location makes this property. The Boathouse itself is very quirky.

We have been to the property before and can see there has been some redecoration. Just some minor observations : There is no chair upstairs which is a bit inconvenient when doing hair etc. The quilt on the bed needs to be thicker now we are heading into winter, and the pillows are very flat.

The boathouse is in a fantastic location , right in the heart of Whitby, surrounded by water at high tide. It’s a very special and unique place to stay. Nicely furnished and comfortable.

There was no Wifi and we struggled to get a phone signal. Also you need to allow plenty of time to fill the bath.

We loved the view and location.

The cleanliness wasn't great and the paintwork was very tired. The bathroom wasn't really fit for purpose and the staircase very tight. For us it was fine but hard to carry drinks etc from the kitchen. Older couples would struggle. Nice weekend but unfortunately due to the shower/ bathroom situation and cleanliness we wouldn't stay again unfortunately.

We book the boathouse for its location on a small beach area and for the large decked area outside with fabulous views over the harbour. The boathouse is on the same pier as the lifeboat station . There are plenty of shops and pubs within a 2 minute walk with sandgate and church st a busy tourist area. On a WEEKEND expect loud music into the early hours from nearby pubs , but we have NEVER been woken up in the morning by the sound of early morning deliveries at 5am which happens in other accomodation in whitby town centre. This place is quirky and unique we love it but the tight spiral staircases and no wi fi part and parcel of the very clean accomodation.stay which we picked for our wedding at whitby reg office and "honeymoon" .. We had a beautiful sunday lunch at The Edge which also does sea food. (opposite trenchers fish shop)

Our only dislike is 2 of us staying and only one doorkey . We are a couple who like to do different things . EG if he wants to stay out and watch bands and i want early night i have to leave front door UNLOCKED so he can get in later. , having to constantly check phones in case one of us needs the key to the boathouse is something we prefer not to do and hope with the upgrade of the property they will consider fitting a second lockbox with second key for guests.who like different activities.

Absolutely loved the location of the property, the little added touch of the balcony was amazing as we had amazing weather for the weekend and the balcony was a lovely little sun trap!

For the money I paid it was quite a lot for the property to not have WiFi. The bedding had an awful dirty smell to it aswell not sure if it was just the duvet underneath may need changing but other than that I absolutely loved it!!
