"great stay except for road to property"

9.0

the property was very rustic quiet i had no trouble with the solar as i was there by myself and small dog will visit again everything was great all you needed for utensils and equipment has a good little pond fruit trees and you could go for a walk around i went to the marae and a lady shiwed me where to go

the driveway when it is done a bit better i will be back it is ok if you have a 4 wheel drive i was also surprised there was a lack of bird life no sparrows or native wildlife or birds was hard to find as the letterbox wasnt there and the sign was sideways so you couldnt see it from the road

"Hazardous location"

Nil

At the time of booking including check in date the website did not mention that there were two streams on the drive way. Only once I contacted the owner did they update the website. My car is electric and no way I can risk it as the storm was on its way.. He said he can not get back my money. That Booking. Com had the money.

"It was perfect for four generations of family to have a get together in this lovely echo home."

10.0

I love how peaceful it was, for generations of family together, was perfect with all the different sleeping areas.(great linen.) We had the fire going which made the whole house very cosy Thank you

One of our family had a very low car which found difficult getting through the fiords & over a bit of the rough driveway.

"A wonderful, private, unique family retreat."

9.0

This is an extremely unique and special property. It was the perfect place for our family to unwind at the end of the year. The outdoor spa was gorgeous and pizza oven fun. The kids loved playing on the lake. It is an absolutely beautiful setting that is very well looked after. Hamish is a friendly and welcoming host who explained everything for us and helped with local fishing and swimming tips. The living and bedrooms are cosy and very well appointed. I cannot reccommend this more highly for a wonderful family retreat unique to Aotearoa.

Access on the road. A bit lumpy in places.

"Absolutely loved this place and didn't want to leave... would love to return but my husband said not without a ute n"

8.0

The scenery was amazing and tranquil. Beautiful place to relax. So much space to spend time together as well as take some quiet time for yourself. Rustic and simple. Kids loved the pond. Main whare is cozy. Lots of different spaces for meals. Great location to explore the far North from. Diesel the dog was so gentle with my toddler who was so excited to see him. Love that there were 3 bathrooms and toilets.

Our van struggled on the driveway slopes after the fords and scraped the bottom going in and out so much that one of the guards under our vehicle came off. The cabin rooms could get pretty cold at night. Couldn't get the hot tub hot, it was luke warm for us.

"Poor"

3.0

Location was nice and private.

There was no running water when we arrived and then there was none when we left. The ford crossings weren’t motorbike safe to cross and just lucky it hadn’t been raining. Think it needs to be mentioned in listing that you have to cross fords to get to the property.
