Gamul Place - Quiet City Centre

Location, location, location. If you want to be in the heart of Chester then this is a place to consider. Not very large and with only a very small courtyard to the rear, but nevertheless a great stopover for 3 nights with my wife and our dog. There is a grass area to the rear of the property where the dog can be taken early morning or late evening, but obvsiously cleaning up any necessary. Parking was the main issue of concern. The recommended parking is where it is described but I was a bit unsure about whether I could park there or not. The owner was easy to talk to and explained the situation - so perhaps give him a call before you arrive. For us the alternative parking was quite close by but unavailable owing to 'the fair in town'. We used the pub which is literally just up the road - great atmosphere and good food. It was also a good location for walking the dog - we walked along the southern side of the river to the Marshes. Great for dogs.

Great location for exploring Chester and going to the races. Well equipped and comfortable. A few stairs and steps but worth the effort. Quiet at night despite the close location to everything.

I liked everything about this place. From the excellent communication from Rob to the added extras in the cottage on arrival to the recommendations for food, there really was nothing not to like. The cottage is central to everything and great for exploring as well as bars and restaurants. The Italian La Fattoria recommended by Rod is an absolute gem. Food, staff, and service were amazing!! It's no wonder this place was queued out the door.

Very little negatives, perhaps the stairs in the cottage are tricky at night going to the toilet but wouldn't put me off staying here again. I honestly can't find another fault. We loved our time here and would highly recommend this place.

Everything about the property is perfect for a short stay in Chester. Responsiveness of the host was excellent, thanks Rod.

Lovely cottage with everything you need for a short stay. It was a really lovely touch to have milk, coffee, tea and some fruit waiting for us for when we arrived.

Nothing to complain about.

The location was ideal and really central. Being off the main road the cottage and courtyard was surprisingly quiet, which was ideal when traveling with a 3 year old. We only stayed overnight and ate out for dinner and breakfast and it was on the doorstep to some really good restaurants and coffee shops.

It could of been cleaner. There were dead flys on the kitchen windowsill, the floors were grubby downstairs along with the bathroom which had not only dust around the sink which showed it hadn't been cleaned in a while but there was also loads of black hairs everywhere. If it wasnt for this, we would definitely book again.

Everything was just as we had hoped, the cottage was very comfy and spotlessly clean.

The location was perfect for easy access to the town and down to the river.Rod the owner was very helpful about parking and information about the area.The property was clean and tidy and the bed was first class.

There was nothing to dislike.
