Loved it all.

My friend would have liked better WiFi. But I didn't care, nice to be off grid for a while

Perfect location for relaxing and waking and the cottage had everything you need. Even a bottle of wine ready for us when we arrived which was lovely.

"Comfortable Little Cottage"

9.0

Lovely cosy little cottage. Not overly noisy considering the cottage is on a road. The cats enjoyed their holiday too 😁 enjoyed having somewhere new to explore and they enjoyed the treats kindly left for them by the host 🙂 Lake Windermere is roughly an hour and a half drive away too which isn't bad at all so we had a day trip there.

There's no pathway outside cottage; the gate opens directly on to the road. The road didn't seem like a very busy one however if a car comes speeding around the bend then it's quite hazardous. Bed was definitely quirky 😆 ok for a short stay and extremely comfortable to sleep on but getting up and down from it was a bit of a pain.

"Lovely cottage, shame on lack of privacy."

7.0

We did have a lovely stay at Pinfold the upstairs was lovely and beds were comfortable no complaints and the cottage has everything you’d need I cooked nearly every day and there wasn’t anything I needed that they didn’t have. We needed somewhere that was local to venture out to the Yorkshire dales and we seen so much and walked so many miles.

I came with a person with additional needs and the downstairs just wasn’t suitable. I wish I had google earthed the property and seen where exactly it was as the pictures show it as a solitary cottage but in actual fact it is very close to another property the old post house. We had scorching weather so the neighbours were out enjoying the sun every day, which allowed us no privacy and with the toilet directly opposite a half glazed door it was not ideal especially when the bathroom door doesn’t catch so the only way to keep it closed is by locking it which the person I was supporting wasn’t able to do. We also had no privacy in lounge either with a second door not having any window coverings. A large window with no blind we had to keep the curtains drawn most of our stay which was a shame. The fireplace also leaked quite considerably which I know you marked as an ongoing issue but I didn’t expect it to leak as much as it did. We stayed a total of 7 nights and showered twice a day due to the humidity so the two towels supplied weren’t really enough.

"Very comfortable and quirky property in a stunningly beautiful location."

9.0

Absolutely Spotless. Decidedly quirky and had I come for a romantic weekend/ longer it had everything that was needed. Whole load of exceptionals really. I will rate this a very solid 9.5/10.

I do have three niggles. The first is that there are too many uncurtained / poorly curtained windows downstairs. Privacy is thus not optimised and this is particularly important since the owners seem to be targetting this property let primarily as a romantic getaway destination. Upstairs was just fine, but downstairs you were always open to view via the windows in the front and back doors. In addition, proper curtain rings are needed on the main downstairs window. Those curtains simply didn’t stay shut properly. Suggest, that when replacement is required you go with traditional solid wood doors for both. In the meantime, please fit blinds on both doors - this will be particularly helpful given the unavoidable location of the bathroom downstairs. Though there is a low risk of people being in the right place to see in - given the location - there is no need not to give guests the option for absolute privacy - particularly so with the front door. Secondly, and this is cheaply resolved) please provide a small amount of tea [loose leaf black tea in a sealable container is fairly swipe-proof and will last] and coffee along with perhaps say a pint of milk. Not only will this be cheaper than the wine currently offered, it will be more helpful on arrival. Besides, some of us don’t drink and given the vertiginous nature of the local roads, visitors are more likely to most appreciate a quick tea/coffee on arrival to allow them to freshen up before they head to the supermarket - where they can get their own preferred tipple. Thirdly, I would suggest you update the hard copies of local menus etc. in the book. This should be done at least every six months. Old menus, even if still in date detail wise just look like you don’t care and you clearly do care.

"Enjoyed Stay blessed with lovely weather - lovely cottage spoilt by bed issues came home 1 day earlier as consequence"

8.0

The property was quaint and cosy - very clean - great shower ! - walking distance to a Bistro with lovely food- central to visiting tourists spots.

Struggled with the bed - mattress was on a board not slats very uncomfortable- didn’t sleep a whole night on the bed during stay as agitated back pain, spent rest of night on the sofa. Disappointed with the view from the cottage, the suggested “hill view” was next to a roadside in the front garden - main hill view blocked by high fence at the rear. Front room needed reconfiguring suggest tv to be under the stairs and sofa to be on the back wall under the window - only table to put cup on was with single chair under the stairs I felt uncomfortable when sitting on the sofa putting cup of tea on the puffy incase of spillage as no where else to put it.( I wouldn’t do this at home) Leaving instructions included to clean out the log burner if used during stay
