"A magical weekend"

10.0

The cottage is absolutely beautiful. Such a quirky and compact design. From the outside it looks really small, but you have to step down into the living area which means a lot of the space is below the surface. Everything you could possibly need, lots of natural light and interesting features. Had the most magical cosy weekend with the fire on and the curtains closed while the weather outside was grim! Great for doggy owners because the yard is enclosed. Would be lovely in the summer too, with the seating outside. Worth mentioning there is a car park just round the corner (honesty box asks for £1 to park). Lots of walks and beautiful scenery on the doorstep. Beds very comfortable and a cute doggy basket with blankets, toys and treats. Couldn't have asked for more!

"Peaceful, cosy, warm and fun, just perfect."

10.0

The cottage was fabulous, access via a keysafe which the code was given the day before. The cottage was clean and smelt clean. We loved the wood burning stove (which a starter pack was provided) and how when in the sitting room you are below floor level which is private The kitchen had everything we could possibly need even a slow cooker. It was homely and cosy with a fabulous bottle of wine to greet us when we arrived. There were books and games to pass the evening in front of the stove, the tv was modern and great. There were electric radiators in the bedrooms and sitting room. Loved the beds on the high plinths they were cosy, clean and smelt lovely and fresh. Tea towels, hand towels, bath towels all provided and clean neatly placed for each person on the bed. Wi-Fi was great definitely needed it as mobile signal is quite poor. There are walks around the area and mountain bike trails In Gisburn forest. Great place to stay if you want peace, quiet and chilled break away with walks around. The hosts definitely want to make your break the most relaxing and enjoyable, and they are definitely achieving this. We didn’t want to go back to normal life as it was so lovely, but we created memories and that’s what it’s all about. Looking at booking for next year if I can.

The old vicarage tea rooms was closed which was disappointing, as I had planned to take my family member there as a 70th birthday treat. But we found another spot which had a lounge bar and a farm shop plus garden centre and was lovely. Not keen on not being able to access the property on the first day until 4.30pm. I had requested and earlier time but heard nothing so I assumed it was not possible. The parking of the car - I was a bit unsure of if I could park where I did, I asked a lady who confirmed I could. This was diagonally across to the left when stood at the cottage gate looking to cross the road. Be careful as when some vehicles come along that stretch of road they can be travelling at 60mph. Don’t believe Google it says there is a pub but there is not. I cannot fault the cottage it was lovely

"Gorgeous Cottage!"

9.0

Beautiful little cottage very well located to explore The Dale's. Fully equipped with good quality linen and crockery. Besides a bottle of wine for the humans, there was even a welcome basket for our dog. Very thoughtful touches.

Nothing to dislike! The only thing we found lacking was a coat rack to hang our jackets on.

"Lovely, Idyllic Country Cottage surrounded by beautiful views and quiet surroundings."

9.0

The location was perfect, absolutely gorgeous and the facilities were lovely. The cottage was cosy and homely and I would definitely come again. The cottage has Wi-Fi as well for anyone wondering. Took a while to figure that out when we got there but the password is in the guest book in the living room.

The beds were rather uncomfortable but that's probably just because I am used to a firm mattress. FYI the nearest decent shop is a good 20 minutes drive away so I would suggest getting everything you need for your stay on the first day to save a lot of travelling.
