Aysgarth Nook by Maison Parfaite - Luxury Holiday Home with Hot Tub

The property was beautiful and well looked after, offering lots of space for everyone

The house was really comfortable and lots of space to relax and spend time all together. Lovely comfortable lounge and good size, sociable kitchen. The outdoor area had a lovely view over the hills at the back. And the hot tub was great! Very comfortable beds and great to have the 3 bathrooms, so each couple had one each. Great location and had a lovely meal in the George & Dragon pub in the village.

Couple of things were broken or not working properly: a bedroom dresser door wouldn't stay closed and wine fridge wasn't working. The oven was a bit hard to use; would have benefited from having some instructions available. Also the property had no guide or notes on how to use any of the facilities or the local area, or what to do before you leave. These are minor things and didn't really impact our stay, but thought we'd let you know for future guests.

Gorgeous house with lots of character in a lovely location. Next door to a tea room, and a short walk to the pub and Aysgarth falls. The house had everything we needed for a wholesome weekend away from noise and the fast paced lives we live.

The oven was dirty, the heated mirror in the bathroom was at a dangerously hot temperature (I.e. you could burn yourself), the sink in the main bathroom did not drain, the hot tub was still cold when we arrived, no tea towels were provided so we had to go and buy some. I raised these issues with the host and the majority were not addressed or acknowledged and there was little apology or recompense. We were offered 20% off our next stay with Maison-parfaite as a gesture of “goodwill” - though we had such a bad experience that we will certainly never be staying with them again. This property is not worth the “luxury” label and associated price tag - avoid.

Overall the stay was lovely, however I would like to mention the following: The house front is looking a little run down, a lick of paint would improve it. A runner and a door mat would be good in hallway. Instructions for the oven and microwave couldn't be found anywhere, we worked it out eventually ! The freezer needs to be defrosted and previous old bags of ice cubes and ice creams removed. Under the stairs looked messy with the hoover etc being there. Upstairs the single bedroom heating/picture didn't work. In the back double room the heating/picture also didn't work. In the main shower room the wires are exposed at the bottom of the mirror, dangerously close to the tap ! Little waste bins in each room may benefit. I had to wash some glasses that had been put away before being able to use them. There seems to be some water flow issues in the main shower room sink. The downstairs bathroom toilet did not always flush. The tap in sink in the downstairs bathroom did not work. There are a couple of bins just shoved down the side of the hot tub. This did not spoil our stay but feel they should be addressed.

The size of the property and location was perfect

It was not cleaned very well at at all just didnt look like it had had a clean from a previous stay The property has a whole has a lot of high end facilities but is very tired and in need of repainting the hot tub decking is very slippy and my daughter fell and has a hiorrendous bruise due to this We had no heating in the kitchen and wasnt inforned that the under floor heating in there didnt work until we rang to ask how to get it to work The crockery wasnt clean so we had to wash before we used it The oven was not clean at all and the floors are cracked in lot of places there were marks all over the sofas i bought large blankets with me as was asked not to let the dogs on the sofas It is advertised as a luxury cottage and im guessing when first renovated it was but it isnt luxury now its a moderate property and for the price paid we didnt get a luxury property or experience It was as a whole dissapointing at the standard as photos online im guessing sre when it was newly renovated and not anywhere the standard of the property now
