Location was not that bad

1. We had a terrible check in experience with the rude Oyama staff. We were traveling to Kanazawa with two 6 months old babies. We agreed to meet on another separate office as their tight policy was to check in between 4PM and 6PM only. I advised them that our train would have arrived in Kanazawa at 10 minutes to 6PM, so just the time to get there. Even if the staff first told us they would be flexible up to 6:30pm, then they instead advise to be at 6pm sharp. The staff then anticipated a self self check in options by paying in advance, therefore I accepted. However, no instructions have been received via Booking app or email. We therefore got to the Oyama office to check in at 6:07PM, but there was nobody already. We phoned the staff but the communication in English was difficult. Therefore we have been left out of their office with our two babies, waiting for somebody to help. We asked for help on the street and a gentle soul helped us by telling the Oyama staff to come to the office to let us in and finalize the check in. At last, somebody quite disappointed and rude with us came claiming he sent the instructions, while I showed him no email has been sent not received by me. Finally we finished to check in at 6:45PM and we went to the property. 2. The property is quite old and it seemed not cleaned up properly - few hair in the shower, kitchen appliances also not looked all clean...

Great house in an amazing area. At the gates of the castle and a short walk from the market. Very comfortable bed, lots of space. Very stylish and airy.

Checking in was a little inconvenient. Online check in and a key code would be so much better.

Having to meet to check in and pick up the keys at the office which is quite a walk from the accommodation was not great. With suitcases + bags + a toddler and pregnant wife, in the summer. This was not the best way to start out. If you could make the check in process easier (at the accomodation) or offer a shuttle from the office to the accommodation - or even just a luggage transfer from the office to the accommodation, that would make a big difference

I love how it brought me into the traditional Japanese housing that we only got used to by watching TV. Very nicely kept. Love this place!

Power to the entire house shut off momentarily and was left without electricity during a cold February night briefly. Remote control to the heating system rather difficult to comprehend.

Loved the homey feel. It had everything we needed. Wished we'd had more time in Kanazawa.

The house was just wonderful for our 3 night stay in the last days of 2023. The house is very large and due to all our sightseeing in Kanazawa we didn’t really make use of all the space. The house was nicely decorated and had absolutely everything we needed including a range of table and glassware. The location was perfect and we were able to walk to most of the common spots. I forgot a bag at the checkin office and the staff were so kind to bring it to the house!

Somehow the link/address to the check in location led us to a slightly different location but with some help from a local, we soon found the place. Luckily the heating worked well as the house was quite cold.

The location was great. The house worked well for our family of 4 adults and 2 children. The long dining table was a real asset in the living area. When the heater ran out of kerosene on our last evening we called the office and staff delivered another tank.

We took taxis to the office to check in. One person attended to us initially and then left and sat down for a lengthy discussion with someone else. I prompted another person to complete our process by saying we have 2?taxis waiting. The key information shared at check in was that there was no washing machine and that rubbish would be collected in 2 day’s time. After checking in at the office, we continued with our taxis to the address. The driver dropped us at the end of a small street and we had no idea which house was the one we had rented. The driver sent us in the right direction and we came across the house which did have a sign on it. We arrived just after a heavy snowfall and the house was very cold. It took several hours to warm up sufficiently for us to be comfortable. There were 3 heat pumps and a kerosene heater at the house. Because it was so cold, we needed them all running.

The location was excellent, right next to the castle gardens and the fresh seafood market. It was easy to walk into the centre of town for food and shopping. The accommodation was also large, downstairs living area with kitchen and bathroom and upstairs with 2 separate bedrooms. The lady we collected the keys from was SO friendly, she responded quickly to all messaged and helped us book a taxi on the day we left to get back to the station. You can also pay to check in early and check out late which we thought was a fantastic service!

More traditional house (which is lovely) but quite cold. They had multiple heaters in the property however which made it comfortable but we didn't turn them off much. Perhaps some more updated furniture would be nice, new couch to sit on etc as otherwise there was just the low set dining table to sit at or laying in bed. The place you check in and collect the keys from was not at the property, it was about a 10 minute walk from the train station. After checking in from there, we took a 10 min taxi ride to the accommodation so it was a bit of a process to check in.
