Oyama 旅音

To have a whole Japanese house as a lodging is something everybody should try when in Japan. Apart from the available space, more than 90 square metres - can you imagine that in Japan? - the feeling is of being a dweller of the neighbourhood, not a tourist. The position of Oyama Tabi-ne is really great: near the Omicho market, and near the Castle of Kanazawa, and not far from the Kenroku-en or the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art. To have a kitchen means you can choose what to have for breakfast, or dinner, if you come home tired after a day of walking, just like a Japanese citizen. Should we ever come back to Kanazawa, this would be our choice once again for sure. Thanks and greetings from Italy!

Great amount of space and very comfortable beds. The host was really helpful with getting us acquainted to Kanazawa and gave us great food recommendations. Loved staying at this traditional home. Would definately return.

It could use a deep cleaning as corners and flower decorations were dusty,, but they high traffic areas felt well cleaned.

Amazing location, so central and close to the Omicho Market. Double story house with lots of space and self contained kitchen fridge/freezer etc. Plenty of cutlery/glasses for use.

Annoying that the key collection is at a different location from the accommodation. The booking.com policies and their booking policies do not match. Arrived with our confirmation of 2 adults and 2 kids (6 & 1) fully paid and we were then told we had to pay an extra charge for our 6 year old to use a futon bed!!. This was no where on our confirmation. Unclear instructions and left a bad taste to begin our stay. No washing machine for a fully self contained house is very strange. No umbrellas supplied. Renovations next door made for lots of noise during our stay. The pipes of the bathroom sink don't connect - leaking and smelt awful.

Great little unit, had everything you needed. Location around the corner from the market is perfect.

No windows to open for airflow that weren't directly into the street outside! The tatami mat room was very bright in the morning. Picking up keys from a different location before going to apartment added time to the sweaty walk from the station.

It was very clean and spacious, a real japanese stay experience

The stairs are very narrow and steep so just need extra caution. Would have been great if it had a washing machine
