Euc and Shiori are hospitality experts. They are ready to guide you through your time in Takayama. Our stay was incredibly comfortable even though it was an old house. They have lovingly maintained and updated the house for all their guests. Don't miss out on using the amazing tub!

You will need to be aware of cafe opening times for your morning prep since the bathroom area is downstairs. The stairs are steep and narrow if mobility is a concern. There was confusion when we arrived since nobody was there to meet us at our designated check-in time and we ended up waiting outside for some time.

L’énergie du lieu et de l’hôte. La beauté de cette maison traditionnelle ! Le logement est atypique, car il s’agit d’un café la journée où Shiori propose de délicieuses tartes aux pommes que j’ai eu la chance de goûter à mon arrivée. Comme j’étais là pour visiter Takayama en journée, ça n’a posé aucun problème pour moi.

Meilleur logement de notre voyage, une très belle chambre traditionnelle, un petit jardin et l'accès à la cuisine, tout ça dans le vieu centre de Takayama et avec un super accueil !!

The house is absolutely beautiful, as the town as well! It's in the heart of the historic districts so everything is close and you're thrown into a town 450 years old. The owners were very welcoming and helpful me in every possible way and told me the history of the house and town, as well as what to see and it was very helpful and interesting. The staff as well was very kind! I absolutely suggest you visit Takayama and stay at Tabino Shiori during your stay!

The guesthouse is in the heart of the Takayama old town preservation area, which can provide you with the sensation of stepping back in time. It is also conveniently walking distance from anything one may want to visit. You get the taste of staying in a traditional house with the comforts of a newly refurbished facility. A great choice if one cannot afford the full experience of a traditional Ryokan. The guesthouse also comes with the advantage of sleeping in a comfortable mattress instead of a single futon). The owners are very welcoming and exceptionally helpful and kind. They provided us with A5 Hida beef for dinner, which is likely the tastiest food we had since we arrived to Japan. When it started raining, they also kindly offered us a lift to the station to avoid us getting wet. We would definitely recommend this guesthouse for your stay in Takayama, it is certainly a top choice to enjoy the city at its best.
