The only difficulty was that the heat was not consistent, we turned up the thermostat but each night it was between 55 and 60. Quite chilly

This home was perfect for our work stay. The property manager was great with communication. We would definitely stay there again when in town.

Very comfortable place to stay. Quiet outdoors to relax outside & catch some air. Great location for star gazing. I enjoyed the book collection & workout area. Love this place!

It was a great place for my family to stay while visiting family and a great value for the price.

One room was much smaller than we thought it would be and we had to scrub cooked on food off a couple pots.

The area is quiet. Literally that is it. Everything else was completely unacceptable. Owner stopped responding to me after only staying LESS THAN 12 HOURS due to mice conditions. Requested money back and still won't respond. Ad states bedroom 1 has a twin and full-- DOES NOT. IT HAS A FULL VERY SAGGY BED. Bedroom 2 has a twin bed-BEDROOM TWO IS ALMOST CLOSET SIZE (YELLOW ROOM IN PIC. THERE IS NO ROOM, IT IS A WALK IN CLOSET WITH A DOOR TO THE ATTIC.. Bedroom 3 has a twin bed and 2 full beds-absolutely not. there is no 3rd bedroom! THERE IS A CREEPY ATTIC WITH DANGEROUSLY STEEP STEPS WITH A TWIN BED IN IT PIC IS DECIEVING- BED WITH "BLESSED" PILLOW IS IN ATTIC ALMOST CRAWLSPACE AREA-LOOK AT THE PIC AND DOOR! NO DOOR KNOB!.. Living room has 2 sofa beds--DOES NOT. 1 SOFA BED AND A TINY BLUE CHAIR THAT FOLDS OUT FLAT. . OWNER AND BOOKING.COM WILL NOT REFUND YOU FOR ANYTHING, EVEN MICE! DO NOT BOOK!!

Mice droppings in drawers. Shower is extremely short--points at your chest, not your head. bathtub caulk job is gross. House is very old(1936) and the floors are VERY uneven. When the ad says 3 bedrooms, the owner is deceiving her customers. There is one LEGIT bedroom. then there is a twin mattress shoved in the corner of some little closet room. and then the 3rd bedroom is in fact NOT a bedroom. IT IS IN THE ATTIC. the stairs going up to this creepy room is EXTREMELY STEEP and not safe. Then at the top of the stairs, on the left, the attic is closed off with a sheet stapled to the entryway. Then there is a small hobbit like door on the right that leads you into a very small "room" with no window due to a portable AC venting through the tiny window that is in fact there.Other than that portable AC, there is no air flow into the room nor is there airflow into the one bedroom. There is a small bed up there. it's VERY creepy. We did not want to stay up there.And there is NO WAY a tall person could stay up there. All the mattresses are extremely bowed. I have back issues and sleeping on it for one night was enough to make me ache for days. There is no designated or paved walkway to the house. The only way into the house was to walk through grass and standing water when raining. Then once in the open area before you go into the house, extensive amounts of mold were seen ALL OVER THE DOOR AND ENTRYWAY. The air in the house is very heavy and was hard to breathe. I contacted the owner and she continuously tried to justify why she doesn't mention all the important details of the house, such as the height issues and the "bedroom" in the attic. She claims that by calling it an "upper room" constitutes not detailing it's exact dimensions and method to get to. She stated that she has never had complaints about the shower, but comments show different. BE AWARE! This house is listed through Craven County tax assessors as a 2Br.

The peace and quiet of the country, spending time with old friends was exactly what we needed! Lovely kitchen, where we were able to cook our own meals, and it was fully stocked. Seasonings, utensils, coffee maker, toaster, really fancy and new oven and stove. Nice big dining table, where we had a great time playing cards. The master bedroom was very comfortable, clean, spacious, lovely, new furniture with lots of drawer space and a beautiful armoire where you can hang your clothes. I think couples would especially enjoy staying here. The central A/C kept things nice and cool. Big, beautiful back yard; well maintained. The tree swing was relaxing and a nice bonus. We didn't use the outdoor fire "pit" (summertime), but it was there - not really a "pit," but a nice place to sit around a fire. The house is old, with off-center structure and sloping/bowing floors in places. Quirky to be sure, but for the good price, it's to be expected.

The communal area floors were extremely dirty, the bathmats had dirt and crumbs all over them, and there was a large nail sitting on the bathroom floor. Dust on the vents and in corners and baseboards - one friend was having sneezing and sinus issues with the A/C and dust. I talked to the owner about these issues, and she said it seemed the cleaning crew tried to "cut corners and got caught." FWIW, she was gracious about it and said she would work on fixing that. We suggested doing a professional deep cleaning between guests would improve things. Other than the master bed, there aren't any other comfortable sleeping options. The beds were bowed and too soft. The sofa pull outs are ...well, sofa bed pullouts. We didn't use the attic room, because it felt a bit dangerous with the very steep stairs leading up to it. Also, the door to the attic is IN the small "extra bedroom," which would have been inconvenient and noisy for the person upstairs to get to the one bathroom by the kitchen at night. Just some quirks to be aware of that aren't in the listing. Again, the master bedroom and bed are the best, so that's why I said it's probably good for couples and not larger groups (until they upgrade the beds or room size/improve ease of getting upstairs, etc).

The location was out of the way but convenient to attractions and restaurants. It's an old, quirky house with lots of unique features. I love the kitchen, and it has a beautiful yard with lots of space and a nice firepit. We were very comfortable here and enjoyed the peace and quiet the home provides.

The house is small, so it is not ideal for large families. We had to purchase a fan because the one provided was loud, and we like to sleep with a fan. The living room is oddly shaped and wouldn't accommodate a large group, but the kitchen is large and can fit a family around the table.

Outdoor area is large, unfortunately due to the weather we were unable to use during our stay. Easy on/off of Hwy 70 which was convenient. The property host was reachable at all hours and very helpful.

I would not recommend to anyone with stability and mobility issues, as the floors are uneven - as with most old homes.

It was a very nice place to stay. Stuff was easily accessible and it’s only like 10-15 minutes from town.

The shower is not meant for tall people. I am 5 ft 10 in and had to sit in the tub to be able to rinse my hair.

It was very very quite enjoyed every minute of the peace and quiet!!
