Casa Mourisca - Albino d'Óbidos

Medieval charming house with the best view of the city from the little balcony in the bedroom, it’s really the highest placed before the castle itself. Quite luminous, nice for a little couple’s escapade

It was during the medieval festival so a bit loud, smelly bathroom but to be expected in such a ancient building

Location. Quirky quaintness very well equipped and comfortable. Walking around the surrounds in the castle and visiting the beautiful shops and restaurants.

It is the cutest little house, probably once a carriage house for the castle. I loved all the architecture and furnishings, and the little door to the balcony off the bedroom. Very authentic castle experience. The location near the north gate was great and right next to the castle made it convenient to be near our friends who stayed inside the Pousada. Couldn't be better located for breakfast with the coffee shop sharing our courtyard. The managers were great at communicating how to enter and where to park.

I confess the need to use the bathroom in the middle of the night became a chore as you have to come from the loft bedroom and then down another staircase to the ground floor for the bathroom.

You definitely could go back in time since this was the gate keepers house. Parking is challenging but, once in very cute and RIGHT in town. It is 3 floors and tiny but, how often do you get to stay in an authentic place like this. I’m an active 85 year old and I felt safe using the stairs to go from bedroom to bath. Very well lit. Just pop out the door and a short stroll away and your on the main path with alll the excitement and shops.

Perfect location, steps from the old town walls. On the doorstep were cafes, restaurants and stores. The apartment was spread over 3 levels with plenty of room to spread out. Would've stayed for long if time had permitted.

Fine for us, but do be aware that there are stairs for access to the 3 levels.

Our host was amazing. So helpful and communicative. The place was probably the best location in obidos. Really cute house next to castle entrance.

Bathroom down two flights of stairs from the bedroom isn’t ideal but to be fair that’s the price you pay for an authentic old house. So no problem really.

Our stay was fine but our car was parked just outside the wall & got broke into & they stole all 3 pieces of luggage & 2 backpacks! After 5 hours in police station we got back to the house late …. Sleeping was short but ok…. Thank you for sharing some of your clothes! The home itself could use some deep cleaning with many cobwebs
