Casa Mourisca - Albino d'Óbidos

Would rate 8.5 if I could. Absololutely wonderful location right next to the castle. Property is an adorable medieval house on three floors, with living room and kitchen on the main floor, bedroom in the mezzanine and the bathroom in the basement level. Host was super responsive to messages. They also allowed me to check-in early, and were willing to provide luggage storage nearby if needed. 10 minute walk to/from the main bus stop.

I had some issues with the really cool old door lock when leaving the property. It sometimes looked locked but wasn't. No issues locking from the inside. The location is fantastic, but the walls and windows are not thick, so if you can't stand hearing people right outside, not the place for you (though it was quiet at night). The bathroom in the basement has a bit of that typical bad smell you get in old European buildings. I was there in early April and the weather was extremely windy and chilly. The gas heater and radiator worked but it was still inevitably chilly at night (though the property provides tons of blankets!). The cute window in the bedroom doesn't latch properly at the top, so the wind was whistling in at night. A full length mirror in the bathroom would be super useful.

Unique place in amazing town.

Excellent location. Nice to have the possibility of living in a old house. Nata Lisboa is just aside, with excellent Portuguese crustards and coffee. Attention of the guests.

Climatization of the house must be improved. In winter it is very cold because of the characteristivs of the building. Heating system at the bathroom must be replaced. There is not a mirror at the bathroom, which can be easily corrected. There should be more electric sockets in the living room. A small wardrobe in the sleeping room would be appreciate.

It was a beautiful place. Almost inside the castle. Super really good location. The decoration is really nice also and the price was ok.

What I don't really like is that check in time is a bit late. At 16:00hs. At 16:00hs we don't have too much time to enjoy the place. You can go for the night and done. The place it's full of electric heaters, however its SUPER cold. Its an old house so it has not isolation. As a detail from someone who works in Marketing, is much usefull to spend some euros in coffee and tee for guest than in ballons. The rest was beautiful and I would recommend it.

Location was fantastic. and the view from the bedroom early in the morning, and from the kitchen throughout the day was really nice.

Towels needs replacement. they looked very old. At first, I was doubting about using it, but smelled ok.

Unique house in a unique location. Our family really enjoyed staying here just because the accommodation is so different from anywhere we have stayed before. Easy communication with the hosts.

Just be aware that the stairs to the lower floor (where the bathroom is) are relatively steep. This is just something to consider in case of small children or accessibility issues.

A very cute house with unique design. Great for people who have no mobility issues as the bathroom is on the lower level where the bedroom is up at the attic.
