Kaladi Rock

Great views and walking distance to Kaladi Beach. The pool was lovely at the end of a hot day.

Poor greeting on arrival. Our host Panos said hello and then had the cleaner take us to our apartment. She spoke no English at all so there was no presentation of apartment or services. I sent 2 emails and 1 message seeking help / information which went unanswered. Aircon stopped working first night and when queried Panos advised he controlled it and we needed permission to use it. The apartment extremely hot without it. The floor tiles are very slippery and care needs to be taken on the staircase especially.

Our stay in Kaladi Rocks was incredible. The place has a breathtaking view and amazing swimming pool. Athina made us feel at home, saving no efforts to satisfy all of our needs. She is such a great person. Thanks to her we really felt at home during our 10-day stay. She made a surprise of balloons to our daughter’s birthday. So special! The apartment was very spacious, with two floors and two balconies. We didn’t expect such a great surface. The location of the hotel is perfect, up the hills, sunrise unforgettable view and walking distance to the best beach of the island: Kaladi beach. Avlemonas village is also very charming and with plenty of restaurant options. Just 5-10 minutes by car from the hotel. We had a great experience at Kaladi Rock and we definitely recommend to all visitors looking for a peaceful and wonderful spot in Kythira.

The fact that we couldn’t have breakfast in the hotel, even under payment, was a bit disappointing. There is no food and beverage service at all. It would be a plus to have a bar service with some breakfast options and drinks in the afternoon. The small dogs of the employees are quite annoying, specially Charlie. They bark at night every time a car arrives and they are not friendly at all with kids. My son got bitten on the last day. Nothing special, but it’s not an airbnb apartment location where we are at someone’s house. It’s a hotel and these dogs must be closed somewhere. Not running around the structure freely all day long. The reception could be by the end of the building, with some indication for those who first arrive at the hotel. Then they could make a new apartment for rental where the reception is located nowadays. It’s a pity to loose such a great spot to this purpose. Another room would be great for the hotel!

I think the view is one of the best on the island. The staff were friendly and very helpful.

The villas need upgrading. The resort is self-sufficient, which can cause problems with not enough power for the whole resort, there is no water pressure, not enough lighting in the bathrooms, bathroom doors all need replacing and a lot more needs to be done. You need to travel by car for 10mins to eat as the resort does not have a restaurant which we found very inconvenient. BUT we loved the view.

Superb view, beautiful pool and helpful staff

The 2 storey villa was nice and practical but I think it needs a bit of an update (some lights not working, some doors not closing, some faucets leaking).

Breathtaking view !!! Room overlooking a picturesque bay. Warm-hearted people who looked after our every need !!! I highly recommend it!!
