Eden Cottage

I recently stayed at this property and had a lovely experience overall. The host was incredibly hospitable, responsive, and made us feel very welcome. The property itself was clean, spacious, and well-equipped.

I do want to flag that the driveway is extremely tight, especially for electric vehicles or larger cars. Unfortunately, I scratched my brand new car while trying to reverse into the space to charge on the very first day, which was quite disappointing. It’s worth noting that details about the parking limitations were only provided after booking, in the house rules and welcome booklet, which I wish had been made clearer on the listing upfront.

The cottage is a real home-from-home and is very well equipped. There is a fantastic decking area at the back. It has very comfortable seating plus a table for eating. Even though we visited at the end of March, it was a real suntrap. It is a lovely, sheltered, warm, and cosy spot. The decor was bright and fresh, and everything was clean. We didn't use it, but there was also a log fire for extra warmth in colder months. The heating was just right for us. The welcome pack contained everything you needed, and tea, coffee, sugar, and some condiments were available. The small treats were also a nice touch. This was an excellent respite as we were moving house and had been extremely busy. Our dog also accompanied us, and he felt very at home. If I had stayed longer, I would have asked the host where the nearest dog walks were. We had a short walk around and couldn't find anything in the immediate area, but I know some woodland walks are pretty close by. The host, Kate, is super helpful. She is available by text message and answers any queries promptly. This is a highly recommended place to stay. Thank you for a fantastic, albeit brief, visit.

There is quite a narrow lane leading to the property, making it challenging to manoeuvre into the parking space. We did have a transit-type van, but we scraped it on some fencing to one side of the driveway. I also drove an SUV, which was also a tight squeeze to move and brushed along the hedges to the other side of the lane. That said, we got three vehicles on the drive, and my son's car, an Aygo, was easy to get in and out. This is not a deal breaker, but I'd recommend leaving it on the road if you have a larger car. We wanted the van off-road as it contained many of our personal belongings.

Great sociable kitchen opening up on to a lovely outside area. Owner was very responsive and provided comprehensive information about local facilities and walks.

Eden Cottage is the most delightful place to stay, very clean,spacious with large kitchen, great dining room and a comfy lounge also outdoor space to relax with BBQ. Kate was the most wonderful host, she messaged asking if we were comfy and did not over see our stay with her presents but she lives next door. The cottage was packed with all your homely requirements including WiFi in every room. 10/10 would stay again and recommend to friends & family. Easy to find even though it’s tucked away, Very private area.
