WILSONS COTTAGE - Cosy Cottage based in the Lake District

We will deffo be coming back , it was a very cosy cottage. Had all the facilities to make a lovely meal & so many bars & restaurants near by driving. But a lovely place.

Quiet, clean and quite comfortable. Kitchen was a good size with enough utensils and crockery. Nice and bright. Nice size bathroom. When we did have an issue and reported it, Ben had it sorted within a few hours which was impressive.

Would have liked mirrors in both bedrooms. The one that was in the main bedroom was not easily accessible for use with a hairdryer or makeup perhaps near the chest of drawers would be good. A wall mirror would have been nice. No wardrobes which is fine if there were hangers and and an over the door hanger system so we could hang some clothes up.

The mattress is too soft for us

To name just a few, stairs that require a safety harness to descend with zero bannisters and railings, wall which is not a wall but a pile of precariously placed bricks which collapse if you barely breathe near it and then you're accused of damaging it and told you will be billed, even after being showed cctv footage and a hand injury, this could have been way worse if a young child was involved. Add a so called host who has an answer for everything and will stoop so low as to accuse us of leaving the property in a state even though we always clean before we leave. After reading reviews from last year, certain things still weren't fixed eg toilet seat, bath tv doesn't work, bath plug

The property was very clean, communication with owner was very good, the kitchen had everything we needed including an iron, we have a pleasant stay - highly recommend

Proper instructions were not given on how everything works in the property, had to figure out how to use the jacuzzi and other things.
