The house is absolutely stunning. We loved the dining table and chairs, and the view to the courtyard. The bathroom is also a wonderful room, minimalist and calm. Loved taking a bath after a long day, watching the rain fall through the big window. Great washing machine/dryer. Close to samurai district, restaurants and supermarkets.

The main negative point of this house are the futon. NOT comfortable. We stayed in various accommodations with futon throughout Japan, from rural folk houses to city hostels, and they were all very comfortable. The ones in this house were not. None of us slept well, and I’m my 30’s with no back issue. We would consider coming back if the mattresses were upgraded, as we still loved the house very much.

We picked up the keys at an office within walking distance of the train station. Check-in was quick, and the staff spoke very good English. From there, we took a bus and walked about 5 minutes from the bus station to reach the house. The house was very nice and located in a quiet area. We really enjoyed our stay there.

One small issue, as in many similar places, was that there were too few hooks in the bathroom to hang bath towels or other items.

The property was clean, spacious, well equipped with amenities, and nicely decorated. The futons were very comfortable and thick providing a good night's sleep. The house was located in a quiet neighborhood, although a bit away from major tourist attractions. Great experience to stay in a traditional Japanese setting.

The keys had to be picked up at a different location between 3pm and 6pm. We arrived at Kanazawa Station in early morning, so this presented some logistical hurdles and extra taxi costs. However, if you arrive in late afternoon, the check-in process should not be a problem.
