Plenty of room for the three of us. It was great to stay in a place that was more traditional. The place was still quite close to shops and restaurants.

It was our first time sleeping on futon beds. They were harder than expected but still got a decent sleep

Really good location, very close to everything.

While my husband loved the Futon bed & said he got the best sleep of his life on it. I really struggled sleeping on the floor & in the end slept on the beanbag chairs instead as I needed more cushioning. Im overweight whereas my husband is not. We’re both in our 40’s.

Great location and facilities.

Beds were not made up and were not comfortable with single layer mattress. We were told we could not use a second mattress without being charged for extra people staying. Also there were two mistakes in the location details - first for the key pick up map address (link provided sent me to the wrong place) and then the address provided for the property itself was also given wrongly at key pick-up, which caused a problem with taxi driver.

Staying in a machiya townhouse is an experience in itself. The place was clean and well maintained, too. Bath with a window onto a small garden was a highlight. The futons on the tatami and thin pillows make for a hard sleeping surface, but that is what you're signing up for - the traditional experience.

You have to go to one side of town (near the station) to get the key, then go to the other side of town where the property is. Would be good if they worked out a digital system to check in and get access to the property.

Nice to stay in a traditional house. Kanazawa is a great city to visit.

Picking up the key at a different location (other hotel). Key box would be helpful. Extra payment for late check out and no opportunity to store bags, also not in the hotel where we picked up the key. Were referred to storage at the station but this is rather far from the accommodation. No restaurants close to accommodation. When we booked it was Indicated that there were also beds in the accommodation but there were only futons. Warnings for additional costs for various issues, eg for using extra futon. Did not come across that pleasantly.

Great and friendly staff! The place was cosy and traditional. The rooms were clean. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone going to Kanazawa!

There is nothing to not like about the property, since we had an incredible stay. The only thing worth mentioning is that the location might not be for everyone, since You need to take buses or walk 20-60 Minutes to the main attractions within the city. This wasn’t a problem for us since we enjoy walking and seeing more of the city, but it’s something to keep in mind.
