"A wonderful holiday in a lovely location and cottage. Would definitely book again."

9.0

Location was fabulous, very pretty village and quay, lots to do. Cottage was comfortable and interestingly quirky due to its period. It was nicely decorated, with thought gone into how the accommodation was presented. Very homely with a small but well equipped kitchen and small table outside with seating for two in the back alley.

Bed linen would be nicer if cotton or cotton mix. Outhouses (with clothes washing facilities) needed a tidy but host attended to this straight away. Car parking required a daily rate in the car park opposite, so very close; would be good to get a discounted rate since staying in the locality.

"Book somewhere else"

1.0

Location Bedrooms were comfortable Free parking at the village hall

I was allocated a different property to the one I had chosen at booking the day before arriving. Mould on shower tiles Television did not work Unable to use kitchen due to baked on food on grill. Tried to use baking pan but food was left with the pan coating on Attempted to clean the kitchen utensils in dishwasher and the floor looked like it had never been cleaned Woken very early by people in flat upstairs Left after one night as so unsavoury Contacted owner who stated she would have the cleaning company assess- obviously they were the ones (not) cleaning it Owner failed to respond to my request of a partial refund

"A review for The Bittern, a late substitute for the Fisherman's Cottage which we had actually booked"

7.0

Didn't get to stay at Fisherman's Cottage but was moved to The Bittern which was in a lovely location, close to harbour.

We were switched to the cottage next to the old deli (The Bittern) at 11pm the night before we were leaving. We are only a couple so we didn't need a three bedroom cottage even if it would usually cost nearly twice the price. As for the cottage, it was nice enough but the bathroom was cramped and badly mouldy. In the morning the tenants just through the bedroom door at Cockle? Cottage were clanking around in the kitchen at 6am and woke us up. The whole house has a dank smell to it which I realise may be because it is so old but if I was paying £150 a night I would expect a little more. The shower was broken so I had to do a temporary fix on it just for our stay. None the less for a whole family the cottage is certainly in a beautifull location and despite the lethal stairs to bathroom number 2 might be worth a grand a week
