Applegrove Country Park, Scarborough

We paid for a lodge that was advertised as having a hot tub. There was no hot tub, we had a dirty outdoor bath we had to clean and run ourselves. The lodge was disgusting, it was filthy. The bin was broken so we couldn't close it which meant we could just smell anything we put in there, kitchen blind broken, sofas in a terrible state with springs protruding from the bottom, TV did not work, fireplace was pathetic and produced no warmth whatsoever. Bath panel was broken with duct tape stuck all over it. Drawers were broken and one fell on my daughters foot, there was mould all over the ensuite bathroom, thick cobwebs everywhere. Every bed was broken with slats laid underneath them. There was blood on one of the bedsheets. We complained whilst there and got ignored. Went through booking.com dispute resolution team and Applegrove have ignored them too. Absolutely would not recommend and will not be going back.

Secluded and cosey Very clean for a pet friendly cabin. We enjoyed our stay and would stay again.

Booking in at 16:00 is a bit late in our opinion for the price paid if Booking in was around lunch time we'd of still had our day ahead of us. On our arrival alot of snow had laid the day before and hadn't been made safe for us to enter the property or use the hot tub. I had to call the maintenance number to ask for a shovel to clear the snow and make safe. He did bring two shovels and we both removed the snow. If Booking in at 16:00 so the property is ready you'd expect all of this done not struggle to get in and then ask for it to be made safe. I understand there was bad weather a day before but this could of been done well before our arrival.

Going Home

No oven or air fryer. Not comfortable bed, thin pillows. No WiFi. Very run down, no staff or customer service. Outdoor wooden decking very dangerous, full of green algae. Unfortunately 2 of my friends slipped and fell. 1 of my friends is very badly injured. Messaged Applegrove country park no response.

Surprisingly spacious place to stay!

More basics could have been provided. There was no dishwasher tablets, tiny bottle of washing up liquid was provided, no hand soap, one bin bag.

We stayed in lodge 23 and the hot tub wasnt very private so people passing by could easy see us in the tub.

The lodge was very cosy, clean and peaceful. With everything that would be needed in it. Enjoyed the relaxing evenings in the hot tub. I just loved everything about it and will be returning ☺❤

Bitterly disappointed with this property,, it wasn't cheap either, could feel bed springs in bed, even the children complained about them, cleanliness was terrible, found a salt cellar under couch, had an awful smell, we went out and bought bleach and cleaning products to make the place feel more cleaner, contemplated leaving a day early but the kids wanted to stay, only good thing about this cabin was the actual hottub, the cabin also advertises an oven.., it was a microwave, the guy told us it was a combination oven yet couldn't work it either!
