Barlow Country Club - Mill Farm Cottages

Got good privacy

Was not very clean and toiletries not availble… not value for money at all..

Comfortable little cottage. Perfect for our overnight stay with everything we needed.

Very good value for money. Adequate for 1 or 2 nights, great if you are in to fishing and want to use the facilities at the fishing lakes.

No indoor dining facilities. There was a table in a cupboard with folding chairs but it was far too heavy to get out.

This property was so cute and picturesque. It was perfect for the two of us and a small dog. It was very clean and we were left a pot of cleaning equipment which was really handy. Nice and easy to use clean shower. There is loads of space to hang your clothes and hangers too. The bed was massive and very comfy. Can access Netflix/disney plus /other streaming apps on the TV. The parking is right outside the property and a lovely walk down to the lakes. I would definitely recommend staying here.

= Great location near Sheffield but very much in the countryside.. - Bird song in the morning - Good to have parking outside to unload and access to accommodation - speaking to one of the builders he indicated, in the future, may have to park outside the gate and carry in luggage and park outside the gate, when the new units are completed. If this is the case, which hopefully is not the case, it is a ridiculous idea as there is a good size area for parking there for unloading a parking cars. Obviously a lot going on with building etc - hope once finished with link in with the country park area better.

- We had difficulty finding the location. I am not sure if we got a text beforehand - but had not read it. We knew roughly where the location was and arrived there but could not see obvious sign. The only one we saw glaringly said Strictly Private - but in small type at the top said Barlow Country Park. which we did not see. We asked neighbours nearby and they directed up by Overlee Road which had a locked gate - so telephoned number and went back to the same entrance. - Why can't the signs have Barlow Country Park in a bigger and more obvious font size - it is as if the owner does not want to say where the place is !!!!!!!! - Have more information in the information file on how to get to and about the Country Park - we eventually worked out how to get there and it is quite something - especially if you like fishing.

Easy check in, beautiful location with lots of walks from the door or nearby with a short car journey, really welcoming and dog friendly at The Tickled Trout and Lakeside Cafe. The owner of the cottage also said hello and checked everything was okay. It'll be interesting to see how it all develops overtime with additional cottages being renovated, however, this caused us no issues or noise whatsoever. Lovely and clean and everything needed. We also visited Chatsworth House and Linacre Reservoirs as well as walks around the fishing lakes at the cottage, the woods and a stop at the cafe on the otherside to the cottages.
