"Perfect location but extremely cold indoors"

6.0

Incredible location - only 5 minutes from lidl or tesco and lots of places to visit. Only 1 hour from the Cotswolds and other parts of Wales. Close by to the Forest of Dean. Double bed was extremely comfortable Lovely enclosed garden at front and back Lots of DVDs available to keep yourself entertained Plenty of toilet roll provided (super useful for a household of IBS and IBD sufferers) Stair gate was present which made it easier stopping the dogs from going upstairs (sign in property states they cannot go upstairs although not noted in description when booking) On request we were offered an extra hour for checkout which put me at ease if I was struggling with my health. Shower had good power in it and was a nice temperature.

Although DVDS were available we couldn't sign into any streaming services like Netflix as it wasn't a smart TV at the property. The house was extremely cold inside which made our stay uncomfortable. The info book stated extra wood would be available outside but there wasn't any. When we contacted them we were told we had to buy our own wood and to change radiators settings although the property was still cold doing this. We visited the local shops but they had no wood in stock so we had to travel a bit to find some. - Bring Blankets and socks - It's stone flooring downstairs so even colder Although our car fit down the lane, bigger cars or vans would struggle as we had to be careful not to scrape our side mirrors. The kitchen tap would continuously leak and it wouldn't get to a hot enough temperature to wash the dishes without also using the kettle water. Although there was a dishwasher we didn't have much to wash every night so it was easier doing it in the sink. Very stingy on the washing up liquid provided too. Although useful this was given to us.

Perfect location for a variety of woodland walks. Great enclosed garden and place to park the car. Had everything we needed for a lovely relaxing stay.

Not a dislike but the road/entry is very very narrow so any larger than average cars would struggle with the access.

Very quiet. Right on the edge of the forest. Great if you enjoy walking the dogs. Cycling ect. Very Short drive to all the main shops ect. Good base for exploring the area.

Some of the pots & pans could do with updating. Security ring type cameras front & back. Not sure if they could log on & watch the gardens but it was a bit off putting.
