Peacock Cottage

The location was fantastic, direct access to the woods. Loved the secure & spacious garden - great for the dog! Cottage is lovely, warm, bed super comfy & water pressure in the shower was great! Everything you need.

No dogs allowed upstairs, which we struggled with as our dog is usually allowed upstairs at home, so he was very unsettled on the first night. I fully understand why this rule is in place though, for cleaning purposes. Baby gate to keep dogs downstairs was very low and big dogs could jump it if determined enough (ours did a couple of times - sorry!)

The cottage was in a great location to visit areas of the Forest of Dean and a day trip to Wales. The garden was fantastic , secure and our dogs loved it , especially when it snowed. The cottage was clean and had all the facilities we required, so peaceful which we loved. The location of the cottage was great for nearby walks with the dogs and also handy to the shops . Good communication from Nikita, the host. Would definitely go back.

Only negative, there could have been a plug in the bathroom sink so as my husband could shave.

A lovely place to stay, was nicely decorated and so comfortable. The garden is huge, which the dog enjoyed and lovely walks close by. Will definitely be returning.

Cozy little place to stay

Tall people should watch their heads, An electric kettle would be preferable, but the stove one worked.

Had few days away to celebrate my 60th birthday! Compact & spotlessly clean cottage with a lovely secure garden front & back, perfect for the dog. Forest 2 minutes walk away, again great for doggy walks. Nice cosy lounge with log burner. (Could do with a couple of side tables for drinks etc). Good main bedroom with comfortable bed. Be aware though, if you need to use it, (we didn't) the 2nd bedroom is very small. Good shower in bathroom which is situated downstairs. Host responded promptly to any messages/questions.

No welcome pack - very unusual these days to not even provide a drop of milk. No storage in bathroom. Nowhere to store food items other than fridge (all cupboards full or padlocked). Wood provided for burner mainly old fence panels which burned extremely quickly so spent all night constantly topping it up. Please Note: (as not mentioned in property description) TV has no streaming services or recording facility. Dogs are NOT allowed upstairs. Very narrow access road.

Loved the location, right next to the forest. Comfortable and clean. Lovely big and secure garden.

Few more oven proof dishes would be great. Took a while for the cottage to warm up from our arrival.
