"Cosy cottage in small village"

8.0

Location was excellent, parking very easy and shop across the road. Very cozy cottage and good base for cycling holiday

Top bedroom hard to get into as stairs very narrow and steep. But that’s what an old house is like .

"Cosy cottage, stunning views!"

10.0

Amazing cosy cottage, very well equipped. Had everything and more we needed, stunning views and great location. Short drive to all the beautiful surrounding towns which are all worth visiting such as Staithes, Whitby, Robinhoods Bay, Sandsend, Runswick Bay and Saltwick Bay. Cannot wait to visit again!

"Delightful!"

9.0

Beautiful cottage, recently renovated - everything tastful and smart. Bed really comfy, with quality duvet, pillows and bed linen. Superb rural views out the back towards distant hills. Would love to come back in the summer to enjoy sitting in the back garden! Co-op very handy, just opposite the cottage. 2 nice pubs in village also within close walking distance. Great to be able to bring our dog and a nice touch that there were dog bowls, towels, treats etc left for our use.

The stairs to the top bedroom are very steep, so would not be suitable for anyone with mobility issues. Galley kitchen well equipped, though really only big enough for one person at a time,.

"Enjoyed the accommodation"

Good location well equipped, clean and comfortable

We couldn’t open the window in the top bedroom. The step down into the bathroom caught out a few times. Perhaps a mins the step sign could be put up.

"Great place to stay"

9.0

Small but very nice cottage with a brilliant view out of the rear garden. All you need. Across the road is a Coop. The countryside around Castleton is beautiful. Big hills, moorland and good walking country. Not far from Botton Village. Blakey Ridge, Roseberry Topping and the North Yorkshire Coast.

"Very good"

8.0

The cottage is very cozy, clean, well-situated, and the owner provides lots of info and recommendations for guests, one feels quite welcome. There is a supermarket right across the street and some nice walking trails nearby

Squeaky floors and doors in the bedrooms and bathroom, not ideal when travelling more than one. There were only an already started toilet paper roll and an additional whole one for our three night stay despite us having booked for four people. This was not enough and when we asked the owner if we could find more somewhere in the apartment, we were told no and that's all that stays of three nights get. This felt stingy and like trying to save pennies in the wrong place. It's a shame since it left a bad taste in an otherwise nice accommodation.

"Exceptional"

The location was perfect. A beautiful little village nestled away with stunning views yet with every amenity you could want - 2 great pubs, a tea room, co-op, playground and a train station direct to Whitby! The cottage itself was so quaint and cosy, modern yet traditional. Comfortable beds, everything you need, nice and clean!

The local cockeril! 😂 The stairs to the top bedroom are very steep and narrow and maybe difficult for someone with reduced mobility.
