Beach front cottage

Fresh scones and cream on arrival, so lovely! Beautiful view and access to the beach. Hosts were super friendly. A beautiful spot.

There was only a fire for heating and the wood seemed to be damp so was very hard to get started and keep going. A heat pump or heater would have made all the difference.

Very cosy cottage, we arrived in winter and Val had lit the fire for us so it was lovely and warm. Has everything you need for a relaxing getaway. Amazing beach views, walks and sunsets.

First of all we were blessed with sunshine as we arrived and blessed by the location and accommodation close to the beach. The serene natural peace is beyond question and memories of our stay with Craig and Val will live long after we return to the Uk. If you are after a vibrant location Charleston is NOT for you, yet if long walks along a deserted beach give to time to ponder and discover yourself, then this is the place to come. Time was our enemy and only wished we had at least doubled our booking time. A place that both challenges yet allows you to unwind and find yourself...a place of dreams and light. Everything you need is found in the ' Beach Homestead' along with a most comfy bed for a good nights rest. You will find a good restuarant/bar in the township on the highway in 'town' and the walk along the beach road will bring you to several locations where penguins and seals are known to come ashore at dusk....bring a small torch. stock up with provisions before you arrive or make the 20 to 30 minute drive to Westport. You will find good reading material on hand surrounding the gold mining history of the area which I enjoyed particularly when I discovered a 'founding father' lived just three miles from our UK home. Loved the 'Heath Robinson' hot tub... Thanks Craig and Val (for the scones)..it was just perfection.

Would have liked another comfortable chair to sit in with views over the beach. Towels smelt a little damp.
