"Superb!"

The Hill Haven was flooded so our booking was transferred to a different property. I can't comment on it, however the alternate property was excellent. Dealing with the hosts was easy. We loved every minute of our stay in Queenstown.

"Very Good"

Location we handy. Good communal area. Warm.

Overall the property is a bit tired. More towels would have been appreciated as was only one towl per person so we had to wash/dry. There was no lighter for the fire.

"It was a decidedly "okay" stay"

Location was fine. Had a nice view but had to Uber into town due to the elevation of the property and difficult to find parking in Queenstown. House was relatively warm with two heat pumps which was nice.

Overall we were quite disappointed with the property for the price we paid ($1500 NZD for 2 nights). Barely any basics provided. Expect to bring your own coffee, tea, salt and pepper, oil and spreads. Barely enough TP for 9 people for 2 days. Log burner had no kindling so pretty hard to make a fire with huge logs. Lower bathroom was shower over the bath type arrangement and poorly sealed so every time someone took a shower we ended up with water all over the floor. One of the heaters was broken in the top bedroom. Sent text message to owner on the first evening. Son was coughing all night due to the cold so we got barely any sleep. Sent a follow up text message next day after my call was ignored. Said she would get the manager to come by and take a look. Manager left a radiator heater outside the garage behind a car which we did not notice till next day when we were packing up to leave. Baffling decision not to bring it inside the house where we would see it as they must have had a key. We pulled down one of the blinds in the living room and the beaded chain drawstring came out of the chain connector. Every other blind was fine so I don't think we pulled that particular one aggressively. We were changed $200 for this “damage” that I’m pretty sure was pre-existing. This came out of our $500 deposit that we had to pay in addition to the cost per night. All that was needed was to replace the chain connector ($5 at most) and re-thread the drawstring through the clutch mechanism of the blind. Owner does not appear to live in Queenstown so be prepared to pay for any minor damage. I assume the manager was the reason we were charged $200.

"relaxing!"

The views and location are amazing! the place has everything you need for a smooth trip in terms of facilities. It’s close to to town which is a bonus. The manager told us that’s it’s recently had some improvements to the property and it looks lovely. highly recommend.

the walk home from town is quite steep but an uber was only $8

"Very unhappy with the stay."

Location

Terrible maintenance of property. Carpets (damp) smell throughout the property. Spider webs / Bugs everywhere and no minimum toiletries were provided. Very unhygienic linen with terrible bedding. Host responses were terrible when the issue was brought up.

The property owner was incredibly rude and dismissive, showing no regard for basic customer service. Not only did they lie about the condition of the property, but they also took my money even though I didn’t stay there! The property itself was a nightmare—dirty, dusty, and moist, with a weird, unpleasant smell that made it impossible to feel comfortable. It’s shocking that a property in such terrible condition is listed on a reputable platform like Booking.com. This place is a complete fraud. Be very careful if you’re considering booking here. I wouldn’t wish this experience on anyone and hope this review helps others avoid the same mistake.

"Great views, disappointing house"

The views are spectacular! Such a beautiful view hence why we booked it for the last 2 nights of our 2 week family holiday.

Whilst the view is incredible and we were able to check in early which was very lovely as we travelled with a 6 month baby, mostly everything else about the house was a huge let down. Never have I once written a bad review about accommodation as I’m very easy going and understand things are never perfect however the house itself was disappointing. The host was hard to get a hold of, we weren’t sent check in details, I had to call a couple of times the morning of checking in. The house was dirty, the bedding had oil like stains, the windows were filthy, the garden was overgrown. More importantly, the house smelt strongly of mould we had to air it out. Sadly, I wouldn’t recommend this place, sorry.
