Mandhari - The View

Travelling from Australia. Had three nights at the Mandhari. Beautiful apartment. Comfortable bed. Beautiful view from balcony. Owner helpful when we needed anything E.g. It was very cold at night and they offered us more heaters and an electric blanket We did not need these. Beautiful fruit trees outside our door. Enjoyed sampling the mandarins. Enjoyed our stay. Can highly recommend Rassasy restaurant in town for tapas food. Many places closing soon for the season.

Better lighting on the lower pathway would be safer. The solar lights not very effective in the dark. The lights around the cabin excellent.

Peaceful and private. Great outlook, rural and sea views over town combined. Very roomy and good ventilation throughout. Unit well appointed with modern furnishings. Hosts excellent.

The cottage has lovely views out over Whangamata. The bed is very comfortable and the shower, which is huge, is excellent. The kitchenette is well equipped. Friendly welcome and local information from Tineke and she gave us some feijoas to try. It would take about 40 minutes to walk down into Whangamata but it’s an easy 5-10 minute drive. The location is very peaceful and the cottage is surrounded by trees and shrubs with lots of birdlife. Several times a tui perched right outside the French windows and sang beautifully. It was lovely to sit outside on the deck.

There is only a bedside table and light on one side of the bed. No wardrobe or chest of drawers – we were only there for 2 nights so didn’t really mind but the lack might be annoying for a longer stay

Clean, excellent view, host very accommodating. Everything you need for light cooking is available.
