Doocot At Bonnyside House - New Hot Tub Aug 2025

Good location, comfortable, lovely grounds/hot tub.

Couldn’t get the hot water to work, don’t know if there’s a switch somewhere we missed? Bit awkward but we managed.

Perfect location, nice large apartment.

The kitchen is lacking on pans and utensils for cooking.

**Rating: ★★☆☆☆ (2/5)** We had high hopes for our stay, but unfortunately, the property didn’t meet expectations in several key areas. **Hot Tub Issues**: The jets didn’t work properly, which was a big disappointment since we were looking forward to using it. Additionally, the headrests were missing—there were holes where the mounts should have been, and one of the headrests appeared to have been glued and removed, leaving visible glue marks. The lid was mismatched, too—it was from a different-sized hot tub, and without any hinges or mounts, it was a hassle to lift and slide off the tub manually. **Kitchen Problems**: The kitchen was lacking basic essentials. The countertops were badly damaged with deep cuts, which looked like they’d been there for a while. There were only two pots and no frying pan, and the oven tray didn’t have a grill element, which made cooking a bit tricky. **Bathroom Condition**: The bathroom had some maintenance issues. The door had visible holes where old handles had been removed, which gave it a neglected feel. Some of the mosaic glass tiles were missing around the shower base, and the shower head kept falling off its mount whenever we turned it on. The only way to stop it from sliding down was to jam it against the wall, which wasn’t ideal. **Miscellaneous Issues**: * The TV socket switch is hidden behind the fireplace, so you either have to leave it on all the time or awkwardly squeeze your hand behind the fireplace to turn it off. * The fence next to the firepit had a huge hole, which could be a concern if you have dogs with you. * One of the outdoor seats had a hole in the fabric, which was disappointing for the price. Overall, the property felt a bit run-down and neglected. A lot of small maintenance issues combined to affect the overall experience, and we wouldn’t recommend it unless these problems are addressed.

The hot tub! Such a beautiful location and even more so, the accommodation was just simply devine!

Hard to get the hot tub cover back on again.
